Easy Pavlova

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2012
We had pavlova for the first time last year while traveling in the UK. We liked it so much we decided to attempt it for Easter dessert. This recipe is great. The only adjustments I made were to add 2 Tbsp. powdered sugar and 1/3 Tbsp. vanilla to the whipped cream to sweeten it slightly and added strawberries, raspberries and blueberries in addition to the kiwi. We followed the instructions to take it out and cool on a wire rack, but next time I think we might try cooling it in the oven because it did crack a bit during the cooling process.

Brown Sugar Smokies

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2012
Really tasty and the smell is amazing! We used maple bacon and placed 6-7 per skewer. Laid them all in a 13x9 and coated them thoroughly in brown sugar. They sat in the covered pan in the fridge for about an hour. Then we moved the skewers to a baking sheet and scooped the brown sugar back over. Baked at 350 for just under 30 min. We cut the skewers in half or thirds and keep them warm in a crock pot. Next time I will put foil over the baking sheet to make clean up easier.

Easy Slow Cooker Ham

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2011
This recipe is great, we just made it for a family Easter of 8. We could have used just half but we have lots of delicious leftovers. It fills your home with an amazing aroma. Instead of 1 6lb. ham we used 2, 3lb. boneless precooked hams. We cooked them for 9 hrs. on low and let them sit for another hour on the warm setting. We made a few small adjustments. Only 16 whole cloves and 1 Tbsp. of cinnamon and 1/2 Tbsp. more of nutmeg.
