Easy Swedish Meatball Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2014
Tried to find something different for the meatballs and this was good. However, I really altered according to reviews so don't know what the original tastes like. I subbed thyme for rosemary, cornstarch for flour, cut way back on the pepper and added splashes of soy sauce, worcestershire, nutmeg, and a couple of pinches of sugar. Will make again and try to duplicate.

Impossibly Easy Cheeseburger Pie

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2014
This is one of my families all time favorite dishes. I do add ketchup and mustard to the meat filling, and also chopped up dill pickles before the cheese. Really tasty.

Good! Need to taste it tomorrow after the flavors combine. Right now, a bit "mustardy". Next day update... yummm.

Baked Chicken Nuggets

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2014
Very good. Served with Chef John's honey mustard sauce from this site. I think next time I will substitute poultry seasoning for the thyme. Found that flavor to be a bit off. Also, I soaked in buttermilk (milk/white vinegar) for several hours and omitted butter. Used strips instead of nuggets

Salmon with Brown Sugar Glaze

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2014
Super! Hubby said it was the best salmon he ever had. Made according to recipe. I was worried about burnt glaze, so next time I may bake it for 10 minutes and then broil for 5.

Honey Grilled Shrimp

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2014
Like another reviewer, I was in a hurry and didn't have time to use the marinade, so I just combined the 3 sauce ingredients, pan saute'd the shrimp and basted once on each side with the sauce. Super! Took no time and was really tasty.

Just OK. Made pretty much as written except added just a bit of onion and garlic and increased cheese. Probably won't make again.

Sloppy Joes II

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2014
Made recommended changes- used 1/4 c. Sweet Baby Ray's barbecue sauce for 1/4 c. ketchup. Added a splash of Worcestershire sauce. Thinned out with a bit of beef broth. Very good with the alterations! My new SJ recipe.

Perfect BBQ Baked Beans

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2014
Pretty good. I will use this recipe until another I like better comes along. Made as written except for cutting back a bit on the molasses and brown sugar. It was plenty sweet.

This was REALLY good! I made as written except for subbing spinach for zucchini and inadvertently used a bit less lemon.

Greek Garbanzo Bean Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2014
It was good, but too many beans. I think I will stick with a regular Greek salad from now on.

Best Italian Sausage Soup

Yes, indeed, it is the best! Minor alterations- a bit more sausage (combo sweet and hot), diced tomatoes, different pasta (added individually to each serving).

Very good, when made with reviewers suggestions. I upped the zucchini to 6c., and lowered the flour to 2T. Added a small amont of seasoned salt and garnished with cooked bacon pieces.

Butternut Squash Soup

Reviewed: May 28, 2014
Very good! Gave it 4 stars because I followed all the suggested revisions: only 1/2 block of cream cheese (2 blocks would have totally ruined it), added a pinch of cinnamon, nutmeg and garlic powder. Served topped with pumpkin seeds.

Blueberry Snow

Reviewed: May 11, 2014
Really!! liked this one. Would have given 5 stars but altered per some reviews. Used strawberry pie filling instead of blueberry. Used strawberry cream cheese (and 1/4t. strawberry extract). No additional sugar in the filling (strawberry cream cheese is already sweetened). Reduced milk to 1/2c. And lastly, made my own whipped topping- 12oz. heavy cream whipped with 1 T. confec. sugar. Topped with slightly sweetened sliced fresh strawberries. RESOUNDING success at the potluck.

Very tasty. Decreased sugar a bit as recommended. Next time will increase liquid as it was a bit thick.
