Cream Puffs II

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2011
Wow! These were great. I didn't make the whip cream in the recipe, instead I filled mine with pastry cream which made them over the top fabulous. I did find that they didn't need to be cooked nearly as long as the recipe said. I baked them for 15 mins at 450 and about 10 mins at the reduced temp and then removed them from the oven and they were perfect.

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2011
Okay, this recipe was INCREDIBLE! Seriously, there are no words. I used the mini chocolate chips which after it was baked made it just like punches of pure chocolate. I dont usually like chocolate cake but I seriously couldnt get enough of this. I guess the only bad thing I can say is you wont be able to stop eating it. I'll be using this again for sure. Thanks!!

Rick's Special Buttercream Frosting

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2011
It was pretty good. I'm not really a fan of the taste of buttercream in general but it is great for decorating which is what I needed it for. It was perfect for decorating. Perfectly stiff and held the shape wonderfully. I took the advise of others and did half butter and half crisco but I still felt like I could kind of taste the crisco in it. Next time, I will use half butter and half butter flavored crisco. All in all a good recipe. :)

Pastry Cream

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2011
Super yum! This recipe was really good and pretty easy. I used it it fill an airplane cake I made my hubby for his birthday. Worked perfect. I had no trouble with lumps or anything as others have said. The key, I think, is to continually and vigorously whisk the whole time it's cooking. I will be using this recipe again for sure. I may try folding some whipped cream into it next time for a little something extra.

Chicken Teriyaki

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2011
I really wasn't impressed. I made exactly as directed and it was way too salty. Tasted more like soy sauce than teriyaki. If I make this again I will for sure change it up by cutting the soy sauce in half and using brown sugar rather than white sugar for a richer sweet taste and to help it thicken a little better as my sauce never really thickened as much as I would have liked.

Chicken with Garlic, Basil, and Parsley

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2011
Very good and super easy, fuss free. I made this for my family of 4, myself, husband, 4 year old son and 11 month old son. Everyone including the boys gobbled it up. I topper the boys and hubbies with mozzarella to make it kid friendly but left mine as directed. I will for sure be making this again. Thanks!

White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2011
I made this cheesecake for Valentine dessert for my family. My husband, kids and friends I shared it with all raved. I don't have a single bad thing to say about this recipe! It was phenomenal. The only thing I did different is I doubled the Oreo cookie crust amount to give it a little extra. I followed the advise of other posters and baked it in a water bath for one hour then turned the oven off and let the cake sit in the oven for an additional hour. Not a single crack and it didn't sink in the middle at all. It turned out perfect. This was my first attempt at cheesecake and I will for sure be making this again. Thanks so much for a great recipe! :)

Janet's Rich Banana Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2011
I'm sad to say I wasn't particularly impressed with this recipe. I've been using the same recipe out of my Betty Crocker cookbook for years and have always really loved it but thought I'd try something new. This one seemed to have the best reviews and I thought the idea of adding sour cream was great. The batter was yummy but once the bread was done I just didnt think it was very banana tasting and I had included even more bananas then called for. Plus, I thought it, although fully cooked was a little too gummy. I'm going to stick with my tried and true Betty Crocker recipe as it's the best I've ever tasted however, I may try adding a little sour cream to it next time just for kicks. :)

Marshmallow Fondant

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2010
Such a great recipe!! I've never used fondant before, this was my first time, I was surprised at how easy this was to make. My fondant was a little dry after I pulled it out of the fridge so I kept it wrapped and let it come to room temp them used crisco all over my hands and kneaded it until it was a moist play-dough consistency. I really recommend crisco rather than the butter. It works perfect and doesn't add any flavor or color. Also, Mine only refrigerated for about 2 hours and was perfect. No need to cool over night.

Cake Balls

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2010
These were highly addictive. My husband couldn't stop eating them. I used German chocolate cake and pecan frosting. I dipped half in German chocolate and the other half in white chocolate then topped with coconut. Next time I will cook my cake a bit longer than I normally would so the cake isn't too moist as this time, my cake was moist and I thought it make the cake balls too soft. Also, refrigerating over night would probably help as well. I found the balls rather hard to dip. Some one suggested using a metal egg dipper used for dying Easter eggs and I think that is a great idea. Very good. These were a hit.

Easy Mini Quiches

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2010
It was pretty good. I changed it up a bit to fit my taste. I added a couple extra eggs, some green chilies and little spinach. I think next time I would not use quite so much cheese and I may substitute half of the the cheddar for pepper jack to add a little kick. But a good base recipe.

Eileen's Spicy Gingerbread Men

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2010
A-MA-ZING! Loved them! Followed the recipe exactly as directed and they were perfect. I made my own cream cheese frosting and it was a perfect complement to the yummy gingerbread flavor. For those having a hard time with stickiness, my guess is they are not refrigerating the dough before rolling, or not refrigerating long enough. I refrigerated over night and did not have any problems with stickiness, just rolled out with flour like I would a sugar cookie. Very simple. Thank you for an awesome recipe.

Juicy Thanksgiving Turkey

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2010
Ummm, basically the best turkey recipe ever! I used ginger ale instead of champagne since I live in a dry county and you cant buy champagne. I didnt use carrots or celery since I dont like either. I stuffed with orange, apples, onion and all the seasonings then cooked in a baking bag. It was a 24 pound turkey and was done in 3 and a half hours. Super juicy and falling off the bone. The gravy made with the juice was awesome too! All around a great recipe that I will be using year after year! Thank ou for sharing!!

Stuffing Recipe

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2010
L-O-V-E this recipe! I generally dont like stuffing and since this was my first Thanksgiving as the cook I decided to try a new stuffing recipe and this was a winner!! Everyone raved about it. I skipped the celery because I cant stand celery and instead of raisins I used craisins which made it all the better! Also, I didn't peal the apples which added a beautiful color to the dish.
