Whole Wheat Banana Nut Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2011
I used four regular size bananas and did not measure in cups. Otherwise, I followed the recipe and iti was excellent. There is no taste difference in this recipe and traditional banana bread, so it is a nice way to be healthier, using whole wheat. It is moist and good. I will make this again.

Easy Cream Cheese Danish

Reviewed: May 30, 2011
I followed the instructions exactly for the pastry and cream, and in doing so, recieved many compliments and requests for more. The glaze was slightly too thick for my preference, which could be altitude, so I added a bit more milk. I enjoyed this, but my guests loved it and stated that it was better than any bakery pastry, which is ironic because it is so easy.

Yum. The cooking method is effecient and the results are great. It is a flexible recipe. I usually add garlic and corn for added taste and texture.

Quick and Easy Pizza Crust

Reviewed: May 17, 2011
This recipe has become my friday night special ever since I have found it. It is easy and incredibly good. It is best to use the bread flour as suggested. After putting on the toppings, I allow the pizza to rise again for about 45 minutes for a deep crust. So good and so easy. Thanks!

Blueberry Muffins I

These are tasty muffins. I used frozen blueberries and they work incredibly well. I did not thaw them first. Very good.

Banana Wheat Muffins

Reviewed: May 17, 2011
These muffins are crazy moist. If you are making them for a larger group, I suggest making more than you think you need, because people lose control eating these. It is important to leave them in the pan for five minutes as suggested after removing them from the oven. Thank you for the great and way too easy recipe.

Curried Cauliflower

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2011
I was happy that this recipe was posted because I lost my recipe for this dish. Like others who enjoy curry flavor, I add a little more curry. If you are curry beginner, keep it as listed. I put the cauliflower in the microwave for two minutes in a zip lock bag or place it in raw. I like cauliflower firm and it can get too soft in the baking process. This great with chicken and rice! Again, thanks for posting the recipe.

Apple Betty

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2011
This is not a recipe for you if you are hoping for apples with the consistency of apple pie. Like a few others, I would say that my apples were too mushy for my preference. I think the orange juice tends to boil the apples rather than bake them. If I were to make this again, I would avoid adding the orange juice or add a little flour to the apple mixture. While I did not like the texture as an apple dessert, I did blend the final product and called it, "baked applesauce. As a unique and creative baked applesauce, it was good.

Beef Bulgogi

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2011
I did use substitute brown sugar; otherwise, I followed the recipe with delicious results. I marinated the meat overnight and this produced a tender meat with a nice balance of flavor. Due the fact that Chicago is a winter wonderland today, I grilled mine indoors on the George Foreman with great success.

Classic Bran Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2010
I was unable to find wheat bran, so I used all bran breakfast cereal and followed the recommended amounts and instructions in the recipe. Like many other writers suggested, I used 1/2 cup pumpkin, rather than oil with perfect results. This is the best bran muffin recipe that I have found. They freeze well and provide a perfect grab and go breakfast.

Balsamic Baked Tilapia

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2010
While I am not a fan of fish, I made this for my friends with positive feedback and recipe requests. I was worried about making fish because of my inexperience in cooking fish. Following this exact recipe made for very happy guests; guests who even believed I was skilled in cooking fish. Thanks for the easy and successful recipe.

Gingerbread Biscotti

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2010
I used 1 teaspoons of cloves rather than 1/2 Tablespoon, to avoid the strong clove taste that I don't enjoy. Otherwise, everything is perfect with this recipe and I had no problems with the dough as it had great texture. I think it is important to avoid overmixing the dough. I cooked the biscotti for the full seven minutes on each side for an incredible professional-like texture. These were a winner in my house and will be including in my upcoming Christmas gift baskets.

Iced Pumpkin Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2010
These were a hit with my friends, who said "they taste like fall." Next time, I will put walnuts and raisins in half the batch for increased texture, which is my personal preference. For the glaze, I used maple flavoring, 2 TBSP Apple Cider, 1 TBSP milk, 2 cups sifted powdered sugar, 1/4 tsp cinnamon, and 1 TBSP melted butter. The glaze turned out very well and complimented the cookie flavors.

Cheese Ravioli with Pumpkin Sage Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2010
I followed the exact recipe and found the balance of flavors to be perfect, as did my guests. There is a nice marriage of flavors with no dominant taste, rather layers of taste. While the pumpkin is gentle, that is the purpose. If you want to clearly taste pumpkin, you could easily double the amount and then add more pasta water. As is, it is a delicious, fun, and creative change to traditional pasta with a great fall color.

Simple Whole Wheat Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2010
This may be one of the few breads that tastes better the next day. I used four small loaf pans rather than larger ones, because that is what I had. The bread was perfect when it reached the 180 degree mark; a helpful trick. It is great for sandwiches, as mentioned and make excellent toast. I used two loaves for cinnamon raisin bread, which was awesome and popular at my house. Unfortunately, this bread makes store-purchased bread taste well, not as good.

Tortillas I

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2010
This was my first attempt at making tortillas and I found the process fun and the results quite yummy. Rolling the tortilla from the center and then flipping was a helpful pattern that I would not have discovered on my own. They cook quickly, almost faster that seems possible, yet they are done and tender. I chose to make a half batch in the event they were not to my liking. A half batch made 10 taco sized tortillas. I used a inverted bowl as a template to cut perfect circles after I had rolled them and it worked well. Thank you for the recipe.
