Cold Macaroni and Tuna Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2010
My husband doesn't care for celery or onion so I thought this would be the perfect salad for him. I made it last night to let all the flavors meld together. Unfortunately when I tried it earlier today I was kind of disappointed. It's an extremely, extremely bland salad. I would definitely add a lot more salt than it calls for (and I'd add it to the pasta with a little oil and maybe a little vinegar too) and it needs more dressing. I even used a couple tablespoons of milk to thin it out so it would cover all the pasta, but today it's really dry. With a lot of modifications, this could probably be pretty delicious but as is it's just very mediocre.

Sweet and Sour Dipping Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2012
As is, this recipe is only okay to me. I definitely like my sweet and sour sauce to be more viscous (like you'd get at a Chinese take-out place) so it needs more cornstarch. It's also pretty vinegary, but that could be improved upon with either more pineapple juice and brown sugar OR using rice vinegar vs. plain white distilled.

Sweet Restaurant Slaw

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2011
I took other individuals' suggestions and cut down on the sugar just a little bit and am glad I did. The only misleading part of this recipe is that the ratio of dressing to salad is out of control. I ended up using almost an entire head of cabbage to make up for how much dressing there was. That being said, the flavors are awesome! I'm excited to let it sit in the fridge overnight and get even more delicious.

Egg Noodles

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2010
I put these in homemade chicken noodle soup and my husband said, "Your noodles look funny...but they sure taste delicious!" I didn't have a rolling pin so that was the most taxing part of the whole recipe - I rolled them out using a can of green beans (no joke). But they turned out really delicious! I will definitely make them again.

Cream Cheese Frosting II

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2010
This is the cream cheese frosting recipe I have been looking for my whole life. I could put this on a piece of cardboard and be perfectly content. Don't change a thing, just make it as the recipe calls for, and be prepared for fireworks. Okay, that last part might be an exaggeration.

Easy Baking Powder Drop Biscuits

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2010
I am pretty picky when it comes to biscuits and I thought these were some of the best I've ever had! I made half of them plain and then added grated cheese, garlic powder, and parsley to the other half and loved them either way. Great flavor, not too salty, just perfect. The only recommendation I would make is to grease your pan prior to baking. Awesome!

Fluffy French Toast

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2012
This is a great french toast recipe - it doesn't turn out all soggy, it's got excellent flavor (the cinnamon makes it even better), and it's extremely easy and quick to put together. This is my go-to when it comes to french toast! My rating is based entirely on the recipe as-is.
