Cocktail Meatballs IV

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2014
You can't fail with this recipe. I didn't have chili sauce on hand but made some based off the Chili Sauce recipe by ELLENMEL on this site and honey these meatballs were gone before the 2nd quarter of SuperBowl XLVIII (2014 - Broncos vs Seahawks). I use frozen italian meatballs and an 18 oz jar of grape jam. I've made these countless times and you never can fail. A potluck staple.

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2011
This turned out great! I needed something for a work Halloween potluck. I used this, omitted the raspberries used a bag of frozen peaches and I omitted the added sugars. I also used orange marmalade - great taste like a small hint of orange, not overpowering. It was a hit with the cinnamon tortilla chips! I didn't have any butter cooking spray, only vegetable - didn't chance it. I melted Country Crock in the microwave, used the bbq brush and brushed the tortillas w/ melted country crock first. Then, I cut them in fours w/ pizza cutter. I used 1 cup of sugar/ 1 1/2 tbs cinnamon. - PERFECTION!!! No one in the office has ever tasted anything so delicious. There was none left, everyone was taking some home.

Slow Cooker Spicy Black-Eyed Peas

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2011
This was lip-smacking good! My mother's beans were never this delicious and she can cook! My family was eating out of the slow cooker before I can serve them. I put them on shortly after the ball dropped on New Year's on low and when I woke up my hubby was telling me how good the beans were. My teen boys were also in the slow cooker "taste testing". I didn't even get a chance to taste and tweak it before everyone else tasted. I added a can of Rotel as per another reviewer and another jalapeno. Other than that, stayed true to the recipe. DELICIOUSO!!! Another staple!

Slow Cooker Chicken Dressing

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2011
No fuss dressing! This recipe is so much simpler than the way my mom taught me how to make cornbread dressing. I'm from the South where they take cornbread dressing seriously! I work, have a hubby, 3 teen boys & a toddler. I didn't have time to devote to making dressing for Christmas. I added chopped celery stalks, a box of herbed stuffing mix (my men have huge appetites) instead of day old bread, omitted the chicken since I was roasting turkey, set the time/temp on the slow cooker and forgot about it. The aroma had my family stalking the slow cooker. It was so flavorful. This is a staple going forward.

Rosemary Roasted Turkey

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2011
Leftover turkey? Not with this recipe! I used this recipe exactly as stated and this bird was gone in 2 days! The turkey was sooooo juicy it was unreal! I placed the turkey breast-side down and let it cook. I attempted to turn it over so it can brown and crisp but that didn't come out right. The skin around the breast & between the legs just ripped right off. The meat was literally falling off the bone. Presentation-wise I need more practice on execution. Taste-wise my whole family raved how tasty it was and they usually prefer ham over turkey for the holidays. This is a staple going forward! Thanks, Star Pooley!
