I gave this 4 stars only because the recipe calls for WAY too much sugar. Use only 1/4 to (at the most) 1/3 cup of sugar. Otherwise, this is an absolute delicious dish. It is a keeper, will make over and over again. My husband loved it and he usually isn't crazy about spinach or sweet dressings. I made the recipe exactly as written but removed some of the sugar.
I made this again. I made the dressing as written. I forgot about this having way too much sugar. I had to throw the dressing out it was that horrible. The sugar does not dissolve and it was so sweet. Also too many sesame and poppy seeds. I remade this doing the following. I used 1/4 cup of honey to 1/2 cup of canola oil, 1 tsp. Dijon mustard, 1 tsp. sesame oil, 2 teaspoons sesame seeds, 1 teaspoon poppy seeds and 1/4 cup of white wine vinegar. It was perfect in my opinion. You can also use a good store bought Asian Sesame Dressing. It goes very well with this amazing salad. After tossing spinach and strawberries together with the dressing, add the sliced almonds, and more sesame seeds for presentation. This is a very pretty dish.
