I am a single gal in her 30's, basically starting over on my own for the last year +. Challenging, but when I look back & see how far I've come, with healing & growing.. I realized I'm a trooper & I just keep going & trying & that can never be a bad thing!
I'm into finding healthy ways to cook, physical fitness, having laughs with dear friends.. & maybe venturing out into dating. But I'm not sweatin that! What I am sweating...? A job! Unfortunately I am amongst the unemployed masses. Frustrating but I'm gonna keep swinging! ;D
My favorite things to cook
Chicken & vegetables may sound boring to some but you can change it up SO much with different spices, sauces, & juices. But that is so with anything!!! My latest obsession is cooking with crushed red pepper spice... zesty without burning, mmmmm!
My favorite family cooking traditions
No one cooks like mom! Roast, potatoes, & veggies cooking for hours filling the house... a wonderful memories.
My dad is of Serbian/Polish decent & made THE BEST cabbage rolls out there! I'd wager it against a little old polish lady's batch.. if only he could make them for me still. :( We just have the touch with them that dad did.
My cooking triumphs
I generally cook like my father (miss you Tata!).. throw whatever ya got together with spices & enjoy. I think I have a good idea of spices go well together, etc. I can't remeber the last time something I cooked didn't turn out! :) Slow cooker recipes are the best, so savoury! I am more of a cook than a baker, but I do pretty good with sweets too! Just made light lemony cupcakes with buttercream icing & strawberries.. everyone seemed pretty darned happy with them! My nephews were quiet for about 10 minutes;)
My cooking tragedies
It took a bit for me to get slow cooker spaghetti sauce.. I always would end up burning it! But I perservered, with an abundance of tomatoes from a neighbour, & wow! Nothing like homemade sauce.. I mean, wow!
