Sweet and Sour Chicken I

Made this tonight and it was pretty good. I would next time add a bit more sugar as I like it sweet. I put all my veggies, green pepper, onion, carrot strips, and fresh pineapple, into the sauce once it was ready. It does take A LONG time to make the chicken though. But it was good and my family liked it. All but the little neighbor girl. But then, she doesn't like much other than PB&J!

Crab Stuffed Chicken Breasts

This was good. It wasn't to die for, but it was good. I am going to suggest more crab in the filling and more cream sauce because mine was dry till I added more of the sauce. I would also suggest some garlic. It's rather plain and bland, but still good. I'm thinking maybe some cream cheese, crab, garlic and..something else but I don't know what. It's a good base for something else.

Taiwanese Pork Chops

This was ok. They were very tender, the sauce was just ok though. I don't like black jelly beans and this sort of reminded me of it. Everyone else except my youngest son liked it. Probably won't make again.

Buttermilk Coleslaw

This was a good base coleslaw. I didn't think it was quite sweet enough. I added more sugar. I don't like it overly sweet but this wasn't enough. Otherwise it was great! I loved the consistancy of it and the buttermilk was great. Very creamy. Thanks for sharing. I will make this from now on only adding a bit more sugar and I might try some vinegar next time...who knows?

Garlic Green Beans

I just made these for a euchre party on 1-16-10 and it was exceptionally good! EVERYONE loved it and raved about it. The host even asked if she could keep some there to have the next day! Very good recipe and VERY easy and quick! I used frozen thin green beans, and was going to use fresh parmesan however it was $7.00 for a wedge at Krogers and I didn't want to pay that much. I also doubled the recipe. I will start making these for holiday get-to-gethers.

Perfect Sesame Chicken

This was really really good. I just made it tonight for dinner. I doubled the recipe since I had more folks for dinner tonight than usual. This tastes just like the Chinese restaurant down the street. My kids loved it and so did the hubby. Even my three year old loved it. The ONLY thing I will change next time is not to use quite so much sesame oil in the sauce. I might just use one instead of two tablespoons. But this was phenomenal. I made it with steamed broccoli and white rice. YUM! It was even good on top of the broccoli! DEFINETLY a keeper! Thanks for sharing!

Carrot and Walnut Cake

This wasn't the best carrot cake I've ever had. It was sort of dry. It wasn't very flavorful. It needed to be a bit sweeter. Tweaking it with some more sugar and maybe some more oil might help.

Pumpkin Sheet Cake

I've been making this cake for about two or three years now (got from this site) and it's the best darn cake I make! I get asked for this recipe EVERYTIME I make it. It's never failed me. Always moist and delicious. I double the recipe and make a two layered sheet cake. I'm making it now and will be using the cream cheese icing listed here and then drawing and decorating a pumpkin on top for our church function tomorrow (10-13-07). Now, hopefully, I'll win the contest!

Jamie's Cranberry Spinach Salad

Excellent salad. I have made this other very similiar salad for a few years using straberries instead of cranberries. Good either way. Never have much left. Toasting the almonds is very good. Don't leave that part out. I also toasted the sesame seeds (it calls for it but doesn't tell you to do it). Great salad, if you are looking for a "magazine" type salad to impress, use this one.

Tomato Soup I

Excellet soup! At least, I thought so. My husband and father in law are Cuban, so anything sweet at the supper table is a no no with them. This soup is superb, however if you do NOT like a "sweet" soup, this isn't for you. Next time I make it just for them, I will obmit the sugar. I will try it myself just to see how it tastes without the sugar. Tomatoes can be sweet anyway. So if you would rather have a "tomato-y" type of soup rather than a sweet tasting one, leave out the soup. But otherwise, this is GREAT!

The Best Sweet and Sour Meatballs

This recipe rocks! It was fast, easy and delicious! I couldn't believe how great it was. And everyone in my family loved it. For Christmas this year, I'm definetly making these. I made them with rice and french style green beans with craisins. I will definely make this again and hand out to everyone I know.

Hearty Ham Casserole

This was awesome! I made it exactly as described except I added a wee bit more potatoes and I didn't add parsley because I didn't have any and didn't feel like going to get some. It was great. The son loved it and the hubby too. Thanks!

Spicy Oven Fried Chicken

My husband and I loved loved loved this one! We love it hot...it didn't affect us too much, because we burned off our taste buds long ago..hehe. But we really loved it. My grandfather, however, was sweating by the time he was done! AWESOME for adults...but I don't think many kids will enjoy the hotness.

Aussie Chicken

THIS WAS AWESOME! My husband and I loved it! He raved and raved about how much it tasted like something you would get at a restaurant. It was easy and quick too. We will definetly be making this over and over...probably for our next family dinner too.

Baked Zesty Carrots

This was excellent! I loved it, my husband REALLY loved it and even my son loved it! Then I took the leftovers that night out to my Aunt and Grandfather and they loved it! I used just sliced frozen carrots and they did need to cook about 15 minutes longer to get warm all the way through. Other than that it was excellent! Thanks!
