About this Cook
I am a single parent with two lovely children ages 7-months and 5-years old. I often use recipes to cook and do not 'venture' out independently (meaning not use recipes) very often-LOL! I seek quick and easy dishes because of my hectic schedule professionally and personally.
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy cooking slow cooker recipes. My favorite is one I 'made up' and it includes chicken (my daughter loves drumsticks), cream of chicken condensed soup. I dump all of these ingredients in a crock pot with some seasoings (chopped onions, a little milk, oregano, a little seasoned salt, and black pepper) and it turns out excellent! Now, this is one recipe I don't need instructions on! LOL!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I am from a small town in the south (Alabama) and my mother who is now deceased used to make outstanding soul food like turnip/collard/mustard greens (my favorite food--any type of greens are my favorite), homemade cornbread, salmon patties, fried chicken, chitterlings (for those of you who know what this is, do not judge until you try them-LOL!) I do not eat chitterlings anymore due because they are not very healthy and because I am unwilling to pick and clean them because it is a lot of work!
My cooking triumphs
I am getting better and better cooking day-by-day. Since I now have children I am cooking more and more at home as a cost saving method and now it has gotten to the point where I rather cook at home than eat out! I never thought that day would have arrived-LOL! My daughter often helps me in the kitchen to and she enjoys it.

French Toast Corners
Can you say DELICIOUS? Wow, this dish was so good & delicious. My 5-year old daughter helped me make breakfast this morning--I think it's great for the kids to help out in the kitchen because it's such a simple recipe. I will definitely make this again & again!

Zucchini Herb Casserole
Thank you! Thank You Reviewers for suggesting increasing the seasonings (except the salt) and decreasing the cheese to 1 ½ cups (instead of 2 cups). I never used green onions before so when I began cutting them up, I noticed that I did not have a full cup so I cut ½ of a yellow onion to fulfill the 1 cup requirement—I was nervous at first, but I wasted my nervousness because the dish came out to be absolutely delicious! And Guess What? Even my 5-year old 'picky eater' daughter ate it and asked for seconds! Oh and I increased the rice to 1/2 cup as suggested. I can see how 1/3 cup (as the recipe stated) would not be quite enough. Thanks for sharing this recipe! TERRIFIC!

Slow Cooker Beef Stew I
I made this soup tonight exactly as it was written and it turned out TERRIFIC. This is the first time that I ever made soup so I was excited about the easy recipe. I must say that the next time, I will perhaps increase the salt/seasoning because it was a bit bland for my taste, but overall, GREAT! Thanks for sharing & I appreciate the other reviewers encouraging cooks to follow the recipe exactly as it is written and I read the reviews faithfully to see how I can 'tweak' and make a recipe better.
