Fluffy Peanut Butter Frosting

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2008
HORRIBLE experience!!! The stuff tastes ok, but what on Earth is the standard for "creamy" and "spreadable???" Not this recipe, folks. I have made frosting for years, but never came up with such an unspreadable mess, after following recipe exactly and using my Kitchen Aide to try to whip up this thick gooey concrete. Makes a really awful presentation. Guests were family members, and they all had a laugh at the look of the cake, but, in consolation, it did taste ok. Never again.

Slow Cooker White Chili with Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2013
Good recipe. Served in bowls over brown rice, with Mexican shredded cheese, diced tomatoes and sour cream. Next time, however, must spice it up....tastes way too bland without adding some more Mexican spice.

Delicious Christmas Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2007
Wonderful recipe...turned out great. But NO WAY could this recipe produce 54 cookies. I doubled the recipe and got 48 delicious cookies. Not big coconut fans in our house, but they taste great, so guess we can no longer say we hate coconut! I found that refrigerating the dough prior to dropping on cookies sheets with a cookie scoop worked wonderfully. No gooey problems at all....just perfecto!

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2007
Lasagna was tasty, but really not that memorable at all. What IS all of this boasting about, anyway? World's best?? No way. Have tasted and even made more memorable versions of this.

Cool Whip Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2009
A good cookie. Turned out well, and everyone wanted to know about them. Easy to mix up, but I DEFINITELY recommend the wise tip of first rolling the sticky ball in granulated sugar before dealing with the rather messy 10X sugar...that really helped, but be ready to wipe your hands after each cookie. Mine needed to bake a full 15 minutes, in a convection oven, to be done. The 15 minute time was about perfect, though I make my cookies a bit larger than recommended. Also, to store, the best is an airtight container in the frig to keep them at their tastiest.

Cherry-Blueberry Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2011
Baffled here. There is no way to keep this pie baking for up to 55 minutes in a hot 425 degree oven, unless folks like a black-looking pie. The edges of the crust were VERY done at 30 minutes. Waited another 5 minutes and got super dark look due the egg/sugar mixture burning on top while the frozen blueberries kept the inside cold and yukky.

Turkey Pot Pie I

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2011
Delicious. Period. I do recommend at least 2 full cups of cubes turkey. Crust is great if you do 2 things: 1) let mixture cool, as others have said, before pouring, and 2) bake bottom crust 5 - 8 minutes first before adding mixture and top crust. Adding a jar of homestyle turkey gravy was a real plus, as suggested, and use a medium sized casserole dish, not a pie pan. Cannot wait to make another!

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2011
Great cheesecake. Would be 5 star rather than 4, except for the crust.....only 2 tablespoons of butter for all of those graham crackers is pretty much nuts. Dry as dust....triple the butter, and it's perfect!

Fresh Southern Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2009
Simply wonderful. I have friend and relative in Georgia. Everytime we visit them we go to either someone else's house or a new restaurant for a peach cobbler. They are usually ok, but not wonderful. I made THIS one of our last visit, and they are still talking about it. So nice to teach the Georgians how to bake!

Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

This is one great cookie. I baked 9 minutes on convection, then pressed on the peanut butter cups, sprinking some nonpareils on the warm chocolate cups....looks more like the holidays...superb!

Perfect sauce. Easy to prepare and can store in frig for a few days if you are lucky enough to have leftover crabcakes!

Maryland Crab Cakes II

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2011
I am a Marylander, too. This is a good recipe, but a tad bland. I believe that it might be a 5-star if if were to include OLD BAY seasoning, which is absolutely essential for a delicious crabcake.

Baked Beans II

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2009
Absolutely stupendous! (that is a word, yes?). Do NOT cut back on the brown sugar, as that is the key to just how delicious this recipe is. Baked beans never tasted so good. Don't be afraid to bake a bit longer than called for, as the bacon gets nice and crispy and the beans then really bond with the other great ingredients. Get frisky and add 1/4 cup bourbon and just look out! I keep receiving rave reviews for something seemingly mundane as baked beans....love 'em!

White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2009
AllRecipes needs to allow a 6th star for a recipe that is this good! Prepared it for a couples' Valentine's party and the sounds of the diners made it sound like an orgy! Used the Oreo crust option with less melted butter, and it was simply perfectomundo. Got a tad annoyed trying to strain the seeds from the cooked berry mixture, but it was sooo worth the effort. Next time I will double amound for berries as there was less than a teaspoonful left over for pouring on as a sauce. What a keeper!

Chicken or Turkey Tetrazzini

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2012
Very good recipe, except DON'T ruin it with American cheese. Cheddar is great, as would be some other choices. 1 can chicken soup, 1 can cream of celery and about a can of mile was an awesome tip. Thanks, folks! Will make again and again.

Absolutely delish. However, I did add a full cup of Parmesan rather than 6 ounces, and a slash of white wine. Perfect every time.

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2010
Holy Guacamole.....this is so delicious! Wonderful taste and delicate texture. I am a fish lover, while my wife normally hates fish. Consequently (as you may guess), getting a fish entree in our home during our 35 year marriage has been a super rare occasion. Now, she LOVES this recipe too, and I am one happy guy!
