One Bowl Chocolate Cake II

This is a great, easy cake. I made it all the time in college, because it requires minimal ingredients and utensils. It's not gourmet, but it's really tasty, and it baked evenly even in my warped pan. I made it with salted butter once, and thought that added a nice flavor.

Sam's Famous Carrot Cake

My best friend and I have a tradition of baking cakes together, and we usually don't make the same cake twice. This one has been done three times so far, and will no doubt be made many more. It has become a favorite of our friends and families! We usually substitute applesauce for the vegetable oil, and frost it with a whipped cream cream cheese frosting. One time we even forgot to add the sugar until after 10 minutes of baking, and it still turned out fine! Best carrot cake I've ever had; thanks for sharing the recipe!

Cheese Soup with Broccoli

I made this with grated Emmentaler, since I can't get Velveeta or the like in Austria, and it turned out great! Quick and easy, and very tasty. Thanks for sharing!

Homestyle Turkey, the Michigander Way

I had never cooked a whole bird in my life before trying this recipe, and it got nothing but compliments. Took a bit longer than expected, about four and a half hours, but possibly due to my tiny European oven? Anyway, it was really good and incredibly simple. I can't wait to use up the leftovers!

Turkey with Apple Stuffing

I only made the stuffing, but it was excellent. A lot like what my mom makes, and stuffing was always my favorite part of Thanksgiving growing up. Because some reviewers suggested adding more liquid, I put in some extra egg and a bit of chicken broth. It was really tasty! I'll definitely be making this again.

Hamburger Rice Soup

A great base for someone just learning to cook. I cut the recipe in half and used turkey hot dogs instead of ground beef, and also added celery, chili powder, chicken bouillon, corn and garlic. Used a half cup of rice, and ended up having to add a cup of water after simmering for 40 minutes. It has great flavor, and is definitely a recipe to be experimented with.
