Beef and Beet Borscht

Reviewed: May 19, 2015
Been making borscht since my "from the old country" Gramma taught me 40 yrs ago, this is excellent. While I will still make Gramma recipe, this is a hearty, and delicious variation. I had to make one change, add the vinegar to the stock while simmering the shank, Gramma told me it draws out the flavor. Another winner Chef John, thanks!

Chef John's Cioppino

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2012
The aroma and first bite took me back to San Fransisco, an incredibly grouchy chef and an amazing cioppino. (couldn't find a bay leaf; didn't care). Thanks for sharing this!

Wonderful! As someone else recommended I used Spicy V-8 with a bit of clam juice and lots of fresh diced cucumber. Tasted so fresh!

We host a lot of get-togethers, from pot-lucks and barbeques to more formal meals and this is one of the "must haves" at every one. There are never any leftovers no matter how much I make! Delicious!

Cedar Planked Salmon

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2007
There is nothing better in Seattle than cedar planked salmon - unless it is Copper River Cedar planked Salmon. I usually just use olive oil, salt, pepper and dill and people who've never experienced planked fish can't get over the "fabulous" seasoning. Do soak the planks as long as you can 4 to 24 hours - mine always catch on fire. Makes for a spectacular presentation though...

Brazilian Chicken with Coconut Milk

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2007
I LOVE this recipe - except it is definitely missing salt. I usually put in aprox. 1 tsp and reduce the cayenne by at least half if I'm having guests who are weary of spicy-hot food. Got lots of raves from many different folks. Wonderful aroma!

Adrienne's Tom Ka Gai

Almost perfect. It is probably fine with the gingerroot but should really have galanga instead to taste authentic - just remember to remove before eating. Wonderful aroma!

Living in Seattle, I know coffee drinks. This is as good as a frappacino with aprox. half the calories!
