Bacon and Egg Breakfast Tarts

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2014
I baked the tart shells in oval ramekins, added the egg and bacon and finished baking in the ramekins. Easier to serve and no burned fingers.

Made this with Mexican vanilla and the flavor is so intense. My go-to snack!

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: May 18, 2012
naples34102 - No, this is not the standard recipe which calls for 3/4 cups of sugars and 2 1/2 cups of flour. It makes all the difference. I lost my copy of this recipe a few years ago and have been looking for another. Thanks for helping me with my quest!

Honey Mustard Grilled Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2012
Been making a version of this for years but it is even better with pine nuts, if you can afford them! Cook extra because sandwiches the next day on big rolls with pesto are really fantastic!

So, basically, this is just Sangria made with gin instead of wine.

Herb Batter Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2011
"Bake in preheated oven until the loaf sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom, 40 to 45 minutes. Brush top with margarine. Remove from pan, and cool on wire rack." Are you supposed to take it out of the oven, out of the pan, tap it on the bottom and, then if it isn't done, put it all back and finish cooking it. Can hardly trust in the person who wrote this!

Stuffed Mexican Peppers

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2011
I have always made this with Poblano peppers - a mild Mexican pepper and have never added tomato sauce. Instead I place a good-sized slice of sharp cheddar into the pepper first; add the taco meat mixed with some cooked rice; more cheese on top and bake for 20 minutes. It's much more Mexican.

Grandma's Doughnuts

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2011
In N Carolina they call these "puffs" and serve them with a drizzle of honey instead of sugar. Restaurants bill them as Puffs and Honey. They certainly are not doughnuts but they are delicious.

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: May 6, 2011
Just a hint: if you roll your chocolate chips in flour first, they will not sink to the bottom while baking. Wonderful recipe!

Baked Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2011
WAY, way too much salt! Also, way to much basil. I will most likely try this again but without any added salt and only 1/4 tsp basil.
