Aw-some Cole Slaw

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2012
Hands down THE best Cole Slaw recipe I've ever tried. Fairly quick to make with just a few common ingredients so no need to make a shopping run. Love it!! If possible make the night before to allow all the flavors to marry.

Classic Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2012
I always read the reviews before trying a new recipe and can never figure why people tweak recipes before they've even tried them. This is a SUPER recipe as it stands...no additions needed. The only thing I can think that some would want to do is use CREAMY PB instead of Crunchy. That's it. They baked up to be a super combo of crisp on the edges and soft/chewy in the center. I LOVE these and don't really even care for PB! Maybe dip the balls into a bowl of white sugar. NOT needed but makes them pretty!

Scrumptious Strawberry Shortcake

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2013
I chose to follow and use all ingredients in original recipe as I could not understand how another reviewer thought that the end product had a strange taste and blamed it on the Cream of Tartar??? I was well pleased with the results!! No funny taste, not flat, just a simple, light and subtly sweet shortcake. I hate the sponge type things they sell in the stores as I think they are far to sweet and detract from the berries. This is a perfect compliment to your berries and with just the hint of sweetness allows for the use of whipped cream without overwhelming sugariness (I just made that up, but for lack of a better word I think it works)!

Best Toffee Ever - Super Easy

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2013
This is soft, bland and I knew before even trying that 285 was not hot enough so went to 300 but it still did not harden the way a toffee is supposed to. Soft enough to cut with a knife. Will be using my old tried and true recipe from here on out!

Never Fail Pie Crust III

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2014
It is a perfect, tried-and-true recipe that is exactly what my g'ma and great-g'ma used and turns out absolutely beautiful EVERY time! No fancy ingredients. Put it in freezer for about 1/2 hr. and it rolls out lovely. Anyway...give this a shot and you may just think you're a pastry chef!

No Fail Pie Crust I

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2014
This is exactly the recipe my grandma & great grandma used and is the BEST pie crust I have ever made. Has NEVER let me down and is SO flaky, light and flavorful you will never need another. Lard works as well as shortening. May substitute butter flavored shortening depending on what the crust is used for. Especially good with pot pies!!

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2014
Tried based on stars without first reading reviews as I was in a hurry and I regret deviating from that. This recipe calls for FAR too much Baking Powder and the taste was prevalent even after baking. The crumb topping took AWAY from the muffin IMO as it was OVERLY sweet and there was SOO much of it! I added more milk to batter as it was like wet cement before doing so. The muffin itself was a bit bland and NOT terribly blueberry tasting. Just disappointed from what the ratings led me to expect. Will stick with a tried and true family recipe as this was not a HUGE success.
