One Dish Bourbon Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2003
I was really disappointed in this dish. It just had no flavor at all. I doubled the bourbon and chicken broth and reduced after removing the chicken. Even the sauce itself didn't have much flavor. I will say this though, it was very tender chicken.

Famous Pork Chops

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2003
We loved these chops. They are tasty and have great flavor. Plus, very easy to adjust the recipe to cook for only one or two people. The only think I would change is to decrease the amount of butter used on top of the chops. I think one tablespoon per chop would be more than enough. I used two as the recipe called for and thought it was way too much. My chops were swimming in it and didn't crisp as much as I thought they would have without that much butter.

Cheeseburger Meatloaf

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2003
Very yummy meatloaf recipe. The gooey cheese is really a great surprise too. I added a little barbeque sauce to the top of mine also for some extra flavor.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Brownie

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2003
These were just not a hit at our house. The frosting is really good, but the brownies were a little disappointing. They ended up dry with very little flavor and even the very yummy frosting was not enough to save them.

Jay's Signature Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2003
When Jay says this makes one giant pizza he was not kidding. I didn't pay attention to that part and made one large out of the dough. I should have divided it in half. It was too much dough, and even after 35 minutes was underdone in the center. It was however very good on the edges. The dough is chewy inside, but really nice and crunchy on the outside. I will use this recipe again, only use the dough to make two pizzas.

Slow Cooker Spaghetti Sauce I

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2003
This basic spaghetti sauce is a great starting place for someone that isn't sure how to make in the slow cooker. I was surprised at how much flavor the extra spices added. I would not have normally used that much. I did add a little bit of sugar as well since I found the sauce a little bitter.

Pizza Sauce II

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2003
I prefer chunky pizza sauce, but my husband likes his smooth so I decided to make this recipe. It was really good. Has lots of flavor. I added a little pizza seasoning and some red pepper flakes to mine.

Baked Mushroom Rice

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2003
Just wasn't a hit at our house. I made the mistake of using instant rice, so my rice was done before my onion cooked. I also thought the oregano taste over powered everything else. I won't make again.

Chicken Jerusalem I

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2003
We thought this recipe was okay, but it was not a hit at our house. The ranch, wine and soup all seemed to compete for the primary flavor and did not compliment well.

Peppercorn Ranch Pasta

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2003
We didn't really like this recipe. The Ranch just didn't appeal to us and we are a family of Ranch dressing eaters. I won't make again.

Beef Enchiladas II

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2003
This is a really fast way to make Enchiladas. I used two cans of enchilada sauce. I also dipped my tortillas in sauce before rolling. I little more messy, but it keeps them from drying out so bad and makes easier to work with. I have made with both chicken and ground beef and both work very well. It is a great fast meal.

Ranch Crispy Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2003
This was a nice change from just breaded chicken. It did not have as strong a ranch taste as I would have liked, but it was quick and easy so I will keep in it mind for future use.

Three Cheese Baked Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2003
If you have to eat instant mashed potatoes this is the way to do it. I don't care for instant potatoes, but with all the cheese and extra flavoring you don't even realize they are instant. I did use real bacon rather than bacon bits though.

Chile Rice Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2003
I really liked this recipe. My two year old wouldn't eat it and my husband didn't even try it. You really do have to be a fan of green chiles though for it to be a hit. I won't make again because no one else ate it, but I would like to try it with cream of chicken soup.

P.B. Chips Brownie Cups

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2003
This recipe was fast and easy. More importantly, I already had everything on hand. My husband really liked them and I will probably make them again. They don't store too well though, so be prepared to eat them within a day or two.

Broccoli Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2003
This soup couldn't be easier or tastier. It does make a lot though. I made the mistake of making a whole batch. I followed the recipe exactly and the only thing I would change is to decrease the garlic powder by about half. I felt it was a little strong. Recipe does reheat very well.

Good basic recipe, a little dry. I gave an extra star because they were so easy to make. Great for little chefs.
