Spelt Flat Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2015
This is a quick and very flavorful flatbread. This bread is crisp on the edges and moist inside. I used it as a base for avocado salad and pizzas. The topping for flatbread are endless. If you are looking for a flatbread recipe, this one's a keeper.

Breakfast Casserole in a Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2015
I made this, but wanted to up the flavor so I did not cook the sausage before and let it cook in the slow cooker this adds flavor to the dish from the fat. Also, I added some leftover potatoes, and a few other leftovers I mixed in amongst the layers. It added flavor and texture. My guests loved waking up to the smell of breakfast already cooked. The concept is a 5 star idea, you need to make it your own.

Simple Breakfast Smoothie

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2015
This is a good base smoothie recipe. You can use cottage cheese instead of the yogurt, use some frozen fruit and leave out the ice. Use any fruit that you have ripe or plentiful. Add spinach, for a veggie serving without the veggie-taste. If you are watching your calories or sugar watch how much fruit and sweetened yogurt you use or you will end up with a high calorie dessert instead of a healthy smoothie.

We liked this quinoa recipe a lot. The add-ins along with the soy and vinegar give it a great Asian flavor.

Dog Treats I

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2014
These biscuits don't raise, they will stay the exact shape you cut them. There is no need to leave much space between them on the pan. Also, after the first pan I rolled them thinner, they are a better size to for the dog to chew. Dogs all gave them two paws up!

Oven-Ready Lasagna with Meat Sauce and Bechamel

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2014
Not your traditional lasagna, but not a bad dish. The pasta sheets will expand so don't worry when they don't cover the pan across. I will use a little bigger pan next time so I can use all the noodles in the box. Also, it would be good to add a meat or thinly sliced eggplant. I would like my lasagna more hearty. But, the taste is good and the noodles do cook in the described time.

Double Fudge Brownie Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2014
These cookies did not turn out very well for me. Flat as a pancake. After one sheet pan went flat, I put the rest of the batter in a small stoneware pan and baked like brownies.

Banana Bread from Mott's®

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2014
A good recipe if you are looking for a no cholesterol, low fat bread. However, if you are not you may want to make these changes. After reading the reviews I made a few changes while trying not to change the structure of the recipe too much. I added a half a cup of brown sugar and 1 tablespoon of cinnamon, a teaspoon of salt and used the yolks. The result was good tasting banana bread, but the texture was a little spongey. I also added a few chocolate chips on the top before baking, because I'm not allowed to make banana bread without chocolate chips.

Slow Cooker Mexican Beef Stew

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2014
Nice variation on the tortilla soup we make a lot. This uses stew meat, which I am frequently looking for new recipes to use up my stew meat I get when we buy a 1/4 beef. Tasty, comforting soup and easy clean-up with the slow cooker liner.
