It’s the start of spring break from school and what’s the first thing out of your kid’s mouth when they get home? “Can I invite some friends over
for a sleepover?” Followed up by “Will you make breakfast stromboli for us?”
So, the guests arrive and Mom heads to the kitchen to whip up some Breakfast Stromboli for the morning. Once I have the frozen bread dough thawed I scramble the eggs,
cook the sausage and sauté the onions golden brown. Next I stretch out the dough to an oblong shape and place all the cooked stuffing on the left half, then sprinkle the ingredient that makes it all come together, the yummy Sargento shredded cheddar cheese.
Once the cheese is covering the stuffing I fold over the dough and pinch it shut on all sides, put it on the baking sheet, cover and wait till morning. Brush the loaf with the garlic egg wash and pop it in the preheated oven.
But Baker-beware, don’t put this in the oven until you are ready for the gang to get up. Once the smell of the Breakfast Stromboli fills the air your quiet time is over!!
Slice and serve.
