Gooey Butter Cake III

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2011
I made this cake for my step kids, a 5yr and 11yr old. They didn't like it to much. They said it was to sweet, but the thing is I only used 2 cups of confectioners' sugar. Their dad said it was too rich. Other than the amount of sugar I also used 1 egg in the cake batter and 1 egg in the cream cheese mixture. Personally I like this recipe, however it is really too sweet, but I will make it again with the following changes: 1.5 cups confectioner's sugar and 2tbsp lemon juice in the cream cheese mixture. I may even consider halving the recipe, cutting the pieces into very small pieces so I won't have alot leftover on my hands.

Cranberry Pistachio Biscotti

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2011
I made these today, first time I had biscotti, so I'm not to sure on how they are supposed to taste. However I'm sure I absolutely love these. I would no longer eat store bought cookies and biscuits. This recipe is a keeper. I did make some changes to the recipe. I omitted the olive oil and almond extract.

Bechamel Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2011
This is a great basic recipe. It can be spiced up by simply adding your favorite spices. I always use this recipe, i try different spices and different cheeses. Great recipe. I prefer my onion finely chopped.

Tabbouleh III

Reviewed: May 12, 2011
I gave it 4 stars only because I've never had Tabbouleh so I'm not sure on exactly how it's supposed to taste. This is absolutely amazing, I truly enjoyed this. As long as I have bulgur I will be making this, as I can eat this every day. I do agree with another reviewer, 1 cup of bulgur to 1 cup of boiling water. I used 1 1/2 cups and it was a little to wet for me, and that was before I added the dressing. All in all a great recipe

Red Velvet Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2010
I followed the recipe exactly, however the cake came out dry, it was a light cake, but dry. Also for some reason I can always taste when baking soda is used in a recipe (even in small amounts) and I'm not to crazy about that taste. I had Red Velvet before and honestly this cake did not taste like the cake I had, it tasted more like a chocolate cake that happens to be red. However I will try this recipe again. May substitute the shortening for oil, use less cocoa and less baking time (my oven temp is a bit off).

Good 100% Whole Wheat Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2011
I don't have a bread maker, so I made this recipe the traditional way. My bread came out soft and airy. I used 2 cups whole wheat and 1 cup all purpose flour. Very good whole wheat bread recipe. Definitely will be making again. However, I personally like my bread a little sweeter, so next time I make this I'll substitute 2tbsp brown sugar for the 1 1/2 tsp white sugar.

Brownie Chocolate Chip Cheesecake

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2011
I'm not to sure on how to rate this. This was my million't time at attempt to make cheese cake. Every time I've suffered the same results, my cake always comes out grainy, every single time. But this is a good recipe to try, If it had cooked properly this would have been an awesome cake.

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2010
I'm not sure on exactly how to rate this recipe. It was absolutely DELICIOUS, but it was more like cake than brownie. It is a recipe for a very delicious cake. I'll definitely be making this again, but as cake, not brownie.
