Flavorful Flounder

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2011
This was great! Husband said its a keeper. I modified it based on other reviews. Here is what I did. Baked it at 350 for 10 minutes, added the topping (margarine, mayo, green onions, salt, dill weed, garlic powder, panko crumbs). Broiled it until slightly brown on top. Served it with couscous. The panko gave it a great crunch. Thanks!

Wiener Schnitzel

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2010
This was delicious! My family used to eat schnitzel all the time when we lived in Switzerland. This tastes like what you find in a real German restaurant. I took the advice of other reviewers and added salt/pepper to the flour. I only had 1 cup of regular bread crumbs, so I added another cup of italian bread crumbs. 2 cups of crumbs was more than enough for the 5 pieces of veal that I had. Fresh squeezed lemon is also a must for this dish! Thanks for the recipe!

Spinach and Strawberry Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2010
This was a hit for Easter dinner. I added my own things, such as red onion and toasted almonds. I also followed other reviewers suggestions and replaced half the sugar with honey. Used olive oil instead of veg. oil to be a little healthier. Husband suggested adding bacon - will try that next time. Thanks for the recipe!

Oven Fresh Seasoned Potato Wedges

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2009
These were great! I used sliced red potatoes. The only other thing I changed was I used onion salt instead of powder because that's all I had. This made it a little on the salty side, but they were still fabulous. Will definitely make again. Thanks!

Lowcountry Shrimp and Cheese Grits

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2008
I have to say that even though this wasn't the best shrimp and grits that I've ever had, it was pretty good. I took the advice of other reviewers by using chk. broth and half and half. I also used minced garlic and velveeta since I don't think they make the garlic cheese roll anymore. Next time, will cut back on the tomatoes (I used a can of petite diced) and use fresh, not frozen shrimp. Husband said it was a keeper! Thanks for the recipe!

Yummy Honey Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2006
This was a great recipe! We will definitely make it again. I used low sodium soy sauce in the marinade. I changed around the vegetables, because I don't care for peppers and onions by themselves. Instead, I used zucchini, pineapple pieces, bacon, and fresh mushrooms. I marinated the zucchini and mushrooms with the chicken for about 3 hours. My husband said it was a keeper. I served it with Lipton mushroom rice, which went really well with it. Thanks for the recipe.

Reuben Hot Dish

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2006
This recipe was great! I did make a few changes though. Based on other reviews, I decreased the sauerkraut to 1 1/2 cans. I also cooked the noodles before baking, and used 1 tbsp regular mustard and 2 tbsp dijon mustard. 3/4 cup of bread crumbs is not enough, so next time I think I will use 2 cups. I ended up cooking it for about 30 min. covered and 10 uncovered. Thanks for the recipe!

Tomato Soup I

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2006
I have been looking for a tomato soup recipe that tastes like what you get in a restaurant and this is definately it! Like other reviewers I heated my cream in the microwave. I also pureed all the starting ingredients in a blender before putting it on the stove. Thanks for the recipe!
