Pork Chops for the Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2010
FABULOUS! Only 2 thick chops, followed others advice and reduced soy by 1/2, other ingredients as stated, and reduced time for small crockpot to 4 1/2 hours. Removed chops and thickened sauce with approx. 1 generous T. of corn starch. Husband and I enjoyed thoroughly and will be making again and again! Thanks

LOLOLOL! For those of you who think it is so hysterical that so many people are interested in a written recipe for grilled cheese sandwich, I have a question. WHY ARE YOU HERE??? OMG, too funny! I'm here because I thought after all these years I might be missing out on how to make an awesome GC sand. and boy am I did. So many great suggestions! Let's all keep on cooking, experimenting, sharing and laughing! Great for all of us and our loved ones. Peace, Elizabeth

Peppermint Meringues

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2007
Everyone absolutely LOVED these cookies! I gave them to friends as pre-Christmas gifts with other cookies and these were by far the faves. I used candy canes that were red, green AND had chocolate in them so they really had a diverse flavor and color and were super attractive. I will be making these again and again. LOL- my biggest hang-up in making these was waiting for a not super humid day!!

Cherry Chicken Lettuce Wraps

Reviewed: May 19, 2005
Fabulous, Barry! Thank you. I must admit, though, that I spent more time reading the other reviews and trying to decide what to do than I did making it...LOL! So many variations on the theme, and since I had never had a lettuce wrap I was really befuddled. Well, at any rate, here is my 2 cents worth. I did have to chuckle at the concept of omitting the cherries; however, I could not find any and liked the dried craisin concept. So, with that in mind, I went a step further and used a dried fruit combo called "Very Berry". My other modifications: I marinated chix in soy and teriyaki for about 4 hours, drained, added garlic and waterchestnuts instead of almonds as some suggested while cooking, AND...after much agonizing over which lettuce, chose Romaine. TASTY, TASTY, TASTY! Thank you, again :) *Oh, I also admit my prep time was considerable, but I think it will improve!*

Baked Spaghetti Squash Lasagna Style

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2002
Delicious! Fortunately, my husband likes spaghetti squash...I turned this into our main course! Truly, I've been trying to wean him away from a lot of meat and with the cheese layered in, it seemed rich and satisfying. He said I could quote him: "Feel free to make this anytime!" LOL Thanks for sharing!

Easy Cheesy Chicken I

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2002
Wonderful! Thank you for posting it, Leslye. The only thing I did "wrong" was not having any cream of Cheddar soup, I subbed an envelope of cheese sauce mixed with some skim milk and my sauce was a tad thin. Also, I omitted the sour cream just because it tasted so good already. Next time I will try to remember to add some broccoli too. All in all, really delicious and DH loved it over egg noodles (runny sauce and all LOL)!

Quick and Easy Stuffed Peppers

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2002
Yumyum and so easy to prepare! This recipe provided two "firsts" for me: 1)making stuffed peppers and 2)actually COOKING something in the microwave! Fantastic dish and a wonderful source of fiber and alternative form of protein with the combination of beans, rice, and cheese. I'm looking forward to sharing this recipe with friends and family. Thanks for sharing it, Jen

Chewy Crispy Coconut Cookies

Yummy! Mine did not turn out very "crispy", but they were fabulous anyway. Added chocolate chips, also.

Anniversary Chicken I

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2002
Wow! I just looked back in my "recipe box" to see approx. how long my DH and I have loved this recipe *drum roll*...since at least 2002. It is by far our favorite chix recipe. In fact, despite it only being 5a.m. my taste buds are warming up! LOL :) At any rate, the ONLY thing I do differently is to marinate the breasts in teriyaki, or, if don't have teriyaki on hand, low sodium soy with a splash of oil and a "blop" of honey. Heavenly! Thanks again Vicki!!! (Oh, and btw, I considered going back and reading my previous review - but 696 seemed too daunting!!)

Easy Tuna Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2002
Fantastic "blueprint" for a delicious casserole. I made it with the following substitutions: 1 12oz. can tuna, 2 cans Fiesta Nacho Cheese soup, 2 cups uncooked macaroni, handful of frozen peas. Colorful, slightly spicy, creamy...absolutely wonderful. (I am quite convinced that green chilies would be a nice addition, but my husband does not care for spicy as much as I do.)
