Avocado Feta Salsa

This is wonderful! Added a pinch of red pepper flakes and did not have parsley on hand. Served with triscuit thin crisps and it was fantastic! Probably only makes 2 servings though, not 12.

Lemony Green Beans with Walnuts and Thyme

Very nice recipe, but quite lemony, which I enjoyed, but you need to be mindful of what you serve this with, as a lemony taste does not go with well with some flavors.

Ginger Glazed Mahi Mahi

Made recipe with tilapia and it was very nice. You could probably just cook all of the sauce together when frying the fish to save time. Quite nice.

Braised Balsamic Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2010
Made recipe exactly and this was easy to make and fairly good. But the balsamic sauce (even with a very high quality vinegar) is still a little overpowering. I would definitely follow the other reviewers advice to mix half and half with a stock liquid.

Fantastic. I didn't have mint and used cilantro instead. Worked wonderfully.

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Awesome! Similar to another reviewer, I minced 1 clove garlic, a little green onion and fresh basil (in my garlic crusher)and added to the lemon juice, before adding the other ingredients. This definately added a rich, gourmet complexity to the dish. Easy to make and fabulous. Thanks

Marie's Easy Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2005
Just great! On the advice of another reviewer, I cooked it overnight and glad I did. In the morning I only had to transfer the roast to a covered plate and separated the gravy. We ate it that night and all the flavors had a chance to magnify. I omitted the celery (and of course added whole garlic cloves)and kept in the potatoes, they turned out just fine. Thanks Marie.

Apricot-Almond Bruschetta with Melted Brie

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2003
This is a unique, simple and fabulous appetizer that will make your guests beg for the recipe. It must be served out of the oven, so if you do the full amount for 20 servings, bake half, serve, then bake the other half when the guests are ready. Delicious!

This recipe is perfect for company. Not only is it delicious, but when they walk in the house the smell will make their mouths water. If you are missing a few of the spices, don't worry, it will still turn out great!

Red Peppers are a must. This dish could easily be a meal as the Arborio rice is so thick. But the flavor is delicious.

Not bad, not great. There is something very odd about the combination of flavors that only certain palettes would like. Test this one on a small scale first.

Absolutely Ultimate Potato Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2003
YUMMY! However, I will not puree next time as I think it makes the soup too mushy (the taste was better before this step). Either do the bacon at the very end or make sure it is very crispy. I also didn't use cilantro. The taste was very good, but AMAZING the next day!

This recipe is SO delicious. However, you can easily reduce the amount of prociutto and salami to save money and reduce the saltiness. (1/4 of the stated amount is perfect) Do not use any extra salt in this recipe and use a low salt chicken broth. This recipe will impress anyone!

Sweet Spicy Wings

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2003
I followed the recipe exactly and also pre-marinated the wings for 3 hours. I loved the recipe, but I found that marinating causes the BBQ to flare up from the butter. Next time I will not marinade and make the sauce just before the wings are done (slighlty melting the butter in the microwave first). Rather than simmering the sauce, just use as is and it will coat the wings better. The simmering thins the sauce too much and is an unnecessary step. And if you make the sauce too early the butter will harden. However, the flavor was awesome and we will definately make again and again!

Grilled Salmon I

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2003
AWESOME! I don't care for salmon, but my husband brought home fillets so we tried this recipe with only an hour to marinade. My husband was wowing after each bite. I liked the edges where the marinade had time to soak in as it took away the fishy taste of salmon. I know I would absolutely love this if marinated longer. DELICIOUS, no changes needed.

Grilled Potatoes and Onion

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2003
Simple, but great recipe. You absolutely must use the red onions as they turn out sweet with an amazing texture that compliments the potatoes. I quartered my onion and seperated the pieces. Also I always add a sprinkling of celery salt and cayenne to potatoes of this style (a flavor must). And of course added 2 whole cloves of garlic. Also, like others I tossed the potatoes, onions and spices in a little olive oil before putting on foil, also lightly coated with oil. No sticking and the potatoes were perfectly tender after 30 minutes on med heat. YUM!

Creamy Pesto Shrimp

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2003
Excellent recipe and inexpensive. I used imitation crab meat and the pre-cooked frozen shrimp, deveined and tail-off. I only needed 1/3 of the crab meat package and 1/3 of the shrimp to feed me and my husband perfectly. The remainder crab and shrimp can be refrigerated and frozen, respectively, to save for another night. For variety add mushrooms or peas. A guaranteed successful dinner.

China Lake Barbequed Steak

Great recipe. However, if you plan on marinading for a long time make sure to use a very low sodium soy sauce or else the steaks will be far to salty. Otherwise great.
