I absolutely love to cook! I love the weekends when I can stand in the kitchen and prep, cook, prep, cook, and repeat. I am lucky to family, friends and co-workers who will let me try all sorts of recipes on them.
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy trying to make a dish that is true to its roots. I like to make traditional Italian, Mexican and Greek.
Trying new recipes as well cooking techniques helps to expand my abilities and the adventure is a good portion of the fun.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Favorite cooking traditions happen with every season. It's summer, then it's grilling and smoking. When fall comes it's canning foods (both water-boil and pressure canning). During the winter it's braises, soups, and stews. Every season has it's culinary perks!
My cooking triumphs
A cooking challenge! I like to take a difficult recipe and give it a good test. When it's successful, it makes me so happy. Ta-da!! I love it.
My cooking tragedies
When I'm cooking a new recipe and am asked how it's turning out, I always say...."It might suck". This way if it doesn't turn out, my diners are prepared. It's turned into a joke of sorts actually. It normally doesn't "suck"...but there are a few recipes that I wish I could taste before cooking.
