Oranged Cranberry Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2002
I thought this cranberry sauce was really yummy, but everyone else leaned toward the traditional sauce that I made. Fine with me...I had plenty leftover to eat myself!! :P Thanks!!

Basic Yankee Bread Stuffing

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2002
I'm not a fan of bread stuffing, so I can't really judge this one myself, but my partner thought it was really good. Here are the changes that I made: I didn't use all of the bread because 2 loaves was quite a bit too much, I dried the bread out fairly well and toasted it a bit in the oven, and I used vegetarian sausage (I refuse to cook or eat meat) and that turned out very well. Thanks!! :)

Day Before Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2002
These potatoes had a really good flavor, but I thought that they were too stiff. I will probably try them again, but will add milk and serve them right away instead of baking them the next day. Thanks :)

Vegetarian Stuffed Bell Peppers

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2002
This was okay, but a little mushy in texture for my taste. I would probably add lots of cheese to the mixture if I made it again. :)

Jamie's Cranberry Spinach Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2002
This was surprisingly GOOD!!! Everyone loved it and asked about it at TG dinner. It has a sweet and sour type thing going on and tasted nothing like I thought it would. Really Good!!! I just started what I hope will become a tradition of having TG at my house and this one is a keeper for my menu!! Thanks :)

Grandma's Corn Bread Dressing

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2002
This was wonderful...but I had to make some changes. The original recipe calls for making ALOT of cornbread and then only asks you to use 3 cups of it, which would have only made 1/2 a pan of dressing anyway. I doubled the amount of cornbread (since there was more than enough there) and doubled everything else too. I also added one can of cream of celery soup. It was YUMMY!! :)

Chocolate Gravy II

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2002
It's about time!!!! My grandmother used to cook this (her recipe and method was alot different) and she couldn't tell me how much of what to put in. I may have gotten it right once out of five times. Now, there is not guesswork...this recipe is just right--REALLY good!!!!!!!!!

I thought this was really good, but I added salt and think that I could have added more Old Bay Seasoning.

Seven Layer Tortilla Pie

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2002
Not the most beautiful thing I've ever cooked, LOL but really tasty. I didn't have any cilantro, so I used some dry parsley and cumin instead. My bf thought it was really good, too. Thanks!

Black Beans and Rice

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2002
This recipe tasted really good, but I thought it turned out too dry, and I even added a little tomato juice. Maybe next time I'll try it without draining the beans? I put mayo on mine (as I do with red beans and rice)--an idea I got from my adoptive father who grew up in Louisiana. It's pretty yummy :)

Easy Broccoli Quiche

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2002
I thought the quiche was really yummy :) I also made two pies from the mixtures...and I guess the crust might have been soft in the middle--but that's not even something I even noticed. The only thing I changed was that I added extra mozzarella. The second time I made it, i used spinach and cheddar cheese and combined the egg mixture with the spinach before pouring into the crust---it was YUMMY!!!! Thanks for the recipe-I'll be using it all the time. :)
