Barbecued Beef

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2002
This was fantastic! I followed the directions for the most part. I used a Beef round bottom roast and added 1 chopped onion and 1 diced green pepper which added lots of flavor. I didn't have that smoked sause. I also cut the meat into bite size cubes before I added it into the crock pot. The cubes came out extremely tender and pulled apart as well. If you take the lid off for the last two hours of cooking, you will find that the sause thickens and you don't need to make extra sause like others have said. Mine turned out perfect. I served this dish over rice for my children and my husband and I ate it on a Kieser roll. Please try!

BBQ Pork for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2006
This was super easy and super delicious. I also removed the juices from the crock-pot, shredded the pork (pork loin) and then added two bottles of BBQ sauce (Sweet Baby Ray’s original & honey.) I returned it back to the crock pot on low for another hour or so. You must try this recipe!

Six Can Chicken Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2006
This was a very easy and very good soup. I used a cooked chicken (that I shredded) from the local food store. I used small white beans and added shredded chedder cheese on top. This made enough for two dinners.

Water Chestnut Wraparounds

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2006
Great appetizer...I used brown suger instead of white suger. It takes a little time to wrap the bacon. I used the small sized water chestnuts; next time I'll try the larger size.

Baby Back Ribs

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2006
I have been making these for a few years. Easy and delicious! I marinade them overnight in the foil using Sweet Baby Ray's regular and honey BBQ Sause. Towards the end of baking, I open the foil, drain the liquid and then pour more BBQ sause ontop. I then broil the top for a few minutes. Yummy!

Spinach Tomato Tortellini

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2006
I loved this recipe; however, my husband doesn't tolerate cream sauces too well. I added more spinach; otherwise, I didn't change a thing.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2006
Wow! This was really good and very simple to make. I also used chicken broth instead of water. I added frozen pees and carrots during the last hour of cooking. I also cooked the dough about 1 1/2 hours total. I only needed one 10 oz. package of dough. Great Recipe...the chicken is soooo tender!

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2006
Easy and Excellent! I used Sweet Baby Rays BBQ sauce during the cooking and I added a little more at the end. I also took the chicken out of the crock pot and shredded it. Then I put it back in for another 20 minutes. The sauce thickened up. Serve it on a Kaiser roll...very good recipe.

Almond-Crusted Halibut Crystal Symphony

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2006
Five Star indeed! I used Talipia instead of Halibut; however, I believe that the sauce provides the most flavorable part of the dish. It does take some time to make all at once. I think you could probably make the sauce ahead of time and reheat it later. I'll try that next time. My kitchen and house smelled incredible.

It's Chili by George!!

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2006
This was an excellent recipe for Chili. I have been making my mother-in-laws recipe for years so I thought I would try something new. I added canned diced tomatoes and a little more suger than suggested; otherwise, I didn't change a thing. My family does not like things too spicey, and this recipe had a bite to it. I would use less cayanne pepper and chili powder next time.

Addictive Sweet Potato Burritos

Reviewed: May 26, 2006
We loved this recipe! I used two cans of refried beans and one can of red kidney beans, used 1/2 cup of water only, left out the cayanne pepper and pretty much followed the recipe as written. I served it with sour cream and salsa on the side. It made about 12 burritos-I was able to freeze 1/2. Enjoy!

Sweet and Sour Salad

I'm so excited when I find a new salad recipe that is easy and delicious. This is no exception! The only changes I made was to cut back on the suger and the onion. Yummy!

The Best Meatballs

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2007
I finally found a traditional style Italian meatball recipe that taste wonderful. I normally would throw together nonspecific amounts of ingredients to make my meatballs thus making them taste a little different each time I made them. This one is a keeper. I used ground beef only and substituted ½ cup of milk instead of water. I make these often!
