Monkey Bread I

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2011
So I put half a pack of (cook and serve) vanilla pudding in the bottom of the bundt pan and sprinkled the pecans on top of it -- before layering the sugar-coated biscuits, and I failed miserably! The biscuits at the bottom of the bundt pan did not cook, no matter how long I put it back in the oven for. Will follow the recipe word-for-word once more and hope it turns out alright!

This recipe took me back to a meal I had in Rome during my honeymoon. Props to Christine for a wonderful recipe.

Classic Tiramisu

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2011
Sheer brilliance. I used this recipe to make it for the very first time and skipped the coffee flavored liquor and made fresh espresso instead. According to the italian grocer, the key to a great tiramisu is super strong espresso - it also didn't hurt that their marscapone cheese (polengi brand) and lady finger cookies (bonnomi) were both excellent ingredients!

I struggled with this recipe a bit. Took several tries to bake it to the perfect consistency. Must try again and pay better attention!

Dee-licious. I've made this several times and the smell of it (cooking and heating up to eat) gets me every time.

Ono Butter Mochi

I followed the advice of another reviewer and skipped out on the toasted coconut and milk. Replaced both with coconut milk and evaporated milk (one regular can each) and OMG, it came out amazing and doubles the recipe (so have 2 brownie pans handy!). Thank you Saxony!

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Just amazing!! I've tried (and failed) to cook fish many times. Typically, either the flavor overpowers the fish, or the flavor is overly fishy and I haven't been able to find the perfect balance...until NOW! I didn't change one thing in this recipe and have shared it with many of my friends. Thank you!

Streusel Coffee Cake

Amazing and SOOO delicious! I followed the advice of another reviewer and use 1 cup white sugar + 1 cup brown sugar, and making the streusel with brown sugar. It did take longer than 60 mins, so keep checking on it.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2011
This soup is AMAZING and so delicious. I changed the ingredients just slightly -- 1 cup of potatoes, skip the salt, 1 cup of ham and 2 bouillon cubes (crushed into the water before starting the heat). It's so easy to make and yield the best results. Thanks Ellie11 for sharing this recipe!
