Absolutely the BEST Rich and Creamy Blue Cheese Dressing Ever!

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2011
Very delicious! I used a very strong blue cheese and wish that I chosen a milder version. I left out the sugar and added a few dashes of worchestershire souce. IMHO it needs no sugar and worchestershire adds a nice little extra to the dressing. Excellent on all counts. Will definitley make again with a milder blue cheese. It gets better with age so make it at least a day ahead!

Tartar Sauce II

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2011
Really delicious. I'll never buy store bought sauce again. Takes only 5 minutes to make and makes plenty! I left out the egg as I just saw no purpose in it. I left out the capers as I was just out of them. 2 BIG dashes of worchesshire and hot sauce. Otherwise the same recipie. Super good stuff. Just made my second batch now for some fish and chips my wife is cooking.

French Onion Dip From Scratch

Reviewed: May 3, 2011
I took the suggestion from some of the other reviewers and 1 1/2 cups sour cream and 1/2 cup mayo. Other than that this was a stock recipe. I personally did not like the HEAVY olive oil taste that permeated the onions. It totally overpowered the other ingredients. I will try it one more time with canola oil and butter. UPDATE - Nah, I left this overnight to let the flavors marry, and no I will not make this again. I also downgraded my rating to 2 stars from 3. This is nasty.

Ranch Dressing II

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2011
The search continues for a HVR substitute. I made this recipe twice. The first time as directed and it tasted like mayo and not much else. The second time I modified it based on suggestions of other reviewers and used 1/2c mayo, 1/2c buttermilk and 1/2c sour cream. This balanced the mayo flavor out but it was extremely bland. I doubled all spices and it helped alot but it isn't anywhere close to steakhouse ranch or the stuff in the bottle which is what I wanted.

Shrimp Chowder

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2011
Pretty good stuff! The whole family liked it. I used red potatoes and boiled them in chicken broth, old bay and creole seasoning. I then sauteed the celery and onions with a little old bay and creole. I added some frozen corn and all other ingredients as stated. I added some additional old bay and creole to taste and it was fabulous! This also doubles as a REALLY good chicken corn chowder if you add the corn. Just cube up your chicken and fry it. Then make the recipie with chicken. Yummy!
