Jambalaya II

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2011
My husband doesn't like Jumbalya, but after I served this he said, "This is really good...What is it?" Works for me. I made up a new name and he now eats Jumbalaya regularly ;).

Poppy Seed Bread with Glaze

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2011
Soft on the inside, delightfully crisped on the top. I didn't find butter extract and subsituted for half the amount of rum extract. Tasted great and all my guests approved.

Spicy Baked Sweet Potato Fries

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2009
i don't like sweet potoatoes, but wanted to eat a low glycemic carbohydrate...so i tried these. They definately mimicked a french fry and the flavor was good, so i will make these again as a healthey alternative....but i still don't like sweet potatoes. i gave it for stars for how palatable the seasoning and cooking method made this root veggie.

Asian Beef with Snow Peas

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2007
My sauce was a little thin, so I needed to add more corn starch. Make sure if you do add more that you dissolve it in the smallest amount of water first. I think my sauce was so thin because the beef let off so much water.

Louisiana Shrimp Creole II

This dish was too sweet for my husband and I. We couldn't even eat it all. My husband said it lacked flavor. I think it needed a saltier taste.

Crispy Rhubarb Pie

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2006
All my guests went on and on about how great this pie was. My husband's favorite recipe used to be the Strawberry Rhubarb, but not any longer. He said he wants me to replace it with the Crispy Rhubarb Pie.

Okra and Tomatoes II

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2005
Sooo good, really. I used this recipe in Phase 1 of my South Beach Diet. I used red chiles instead and it tasted so great. I also substituted turkey bacon for the real bacon. I like the taste of okra and the extra veggies and seasoning made it perfect. Please try this one.

Lentils And Spinach

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2005
Sooo good, really. We used this in phase 1 of our South Beach Diet. All the ingredients were on the "okay to eat" list. And I think the complex carbs from the lentils gave me a little extra energy I really needed. Hint: use fresh spinach! Just prepare as directed on bag before using in this recipe.

Oven Brown Rice

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2004
This rice has great flavor, but is a little salty for my taste. It makes 2 1/2 C of rice, so I got five, 1/2 cup servings. The recipe says it serves eight. I think less than a half of a cup would be too small of a portion. I might make this again, but will probably look for something else. I am not sure how to solve the salt problem, but LOVED that I could just put the rice in the oven and walk away for an hour.
