Easiest Peanut Butter Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2011
I had my first bite while it was still cold...didn't care for the texture. Listened to my son and let it get to room temp....MUCH better. First attempt at fudge and I think it turned out pretty great. Thanks for sharing the recipe.

Chuck's Favorite Mac and Cheese

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2011
Very good, I added garlic powder with the salt and pepper. Next time I will add a stronger cheddar, the flavor of the cheese seems rather subdued.

French Onion Soup Gratinee

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2011
I made this soup for my husband (who LOVES French Onion Soup) and he says it's excellent and well worth the 5 star rating. Only difference from original recipe, was we used Havarti cheese, because the store didn't have any Gruyere.

French Toast Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2011
The taste is great....however, with the amount of liquid given and the time to bake...the texture is unappealing to me. I used brown sugar instead of white sugar. I will either add more bread or less liquid next time I make it, but I will certainly try it again.

CB's Black Eyed Peas

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2012
Every year we eat black eyed peas on New Years Day....and every year they are sooooo boring and difficult to choke down....EXCEPT this year!!!! YUM YUM YUM! I made a few adjustments, but the basic recipe for this was amazing. I used a lot of bacon, canned black eyed peas, green chilies and some red chili paste. Other than those modifications, and I made enough for a double batch......this recipe is worth keeping and I will now make these for my family throughout the year and not just on New Years...thanks to cbjc for posting this recipe!

No Bake Cookies III

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2012
Just made these for the first time. They taste great, however, they are still fairly soft. They did not set up as quickly as the recipe says. Not sure if that's my mistake or if they just take longer to set. These are my son's favorite and he says to let them set out a while longer and see what happens. The flavor is great though!

Cinnamon Bread I

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2012
I doubled the swirl portion of the bread. I substituted some of the white sugar with brown sugar. I poured some of the bread mixture in the pan then added some of the "swirl"; I "swirled" it in at that point (should NOT have done that step); then I added the rest of the bread mixture and topped with the remaining "swirl" mixture. It took 55 minutes and the first swirl portion was too close to the bottom of the pan, so it has carmelized in some spots. Taste is amazing though and I will make this one again. It tasted great while warm with some butter spread on it.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2012
This was my first attempt at baking a chicken pot pie, and this one turned out fantastic. I made a few adjustments, for my family's enjoyment. The main adjustment I made was: In place of the water to boil the chicken & veggies in, I filled the pan/pot 3/4 of the way with chicken broth & the remaining 1/4 with water and some chicken soup base. I then strained the chicken & veggies out of the water/broth; kept the water/broth and used it in place of the canned chicken broth to make the "gravy". I will remake this, but next time I will try them in individual sizes.

Sopapilla Cheesecake Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2012
WOW! Absolutely Delicious! First, I found Mexican vanilla at a local Mexican Grocery store, not expensive at all where I live. Second, I read many comments that said NOT to use the Honey....DO NOT LISTEN TO THEM! ha...and if they are right, I can't imagine how good this is without the honey. Third, many comments regarding the crust/butter pool...I also noticed this happening, however, once it cooled somewhat, the butter seemed to be absorbed and the crust was fine; both top & bottom. And finally, I have to agree with at least one other reviewer who said there was no way they could wait for it to cool completely....we did not wait either. Yum...breakfast never tasted so good! I followed this recipe exactly.

Roasted Tomatoes with Garlic

This was incredibly easy to make and tastes great all alone. Will try it with some pasta & on garlic bread, as others have suggested. I used this recipe almost exactly; the only exception....I used 2 additional garlic cloves.

Easy Jalapeno Hot Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2012
My husband enjoys hot flavors, but still wants to be able to taste the item, not just the heat. He says this one does just that. Has an excellent jalapeno flavor. I did adjust the recipe just a bit. I kept 2 whole jalapenos; stemmed & seeded the rest. Boiled 1/2 of those & roasted the other 1/2. Then combined everything into the blender. I really thought this would have more of a hot sauce consistency, it does not. It has a "dip" consistency. Taste is excellent, but not hot. I have to assume that is because of my jalapenos...not a HOT batch, I guess.

Chicken Noodle Casserole I

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2012
I read many of the reviews, both good & bad. I also paid close attention to the changes that were made, my result was just "okay". Not sure if I'll make this again or not. I browned the chicken first and then added chicken broth to get the pan scraps. Boiled the noodles in broth/water mix. Added onion, garlic, salt, pepper, celery seed. Used only cream of chicken soup (family hates mushrooms). Used the suggested topping and found that also, just "okay". I believe small children would love this.

Easy and Elegant Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2012
I will give this recipe 2 stars, only because it actually was very moist. However, it took much longer to cook then the recipe dictates. Also, the flavor of the crumb mixture was less than appealing. It burned, and fell off and that was fine, because it didn't taste good. I had to put an aluminum foil tent over the roast to finally get it to the right internal temp. I will try this method again, but certainly with different breading.

Juicy Roasted Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2012
Delicious! I had a 6lb bird so it took awhile longer, but that's to be expected. I coated inside & out with pepper, salt & onion powder. In addition to the celery in the cavity, I also added about 5 cloves of garlic. The garlic is the only thing I added that was not in the original recipe. This was incredibly moist, the drum sticks literally fell apart. Pulled all the remaining meat, will use that for some chicken & dumplings. Boiled the drippings, bones, skin, celery & garlic for some amazing chicken broth.

This was pretty good. I added some fresh garlic and next time I will add some fresh ground pepper & salt. Took the leftovers and fried them in the morning for some breakfast potatoes, turned out pretty tasty.

Bacon Wrapped Brown Sugar Smokies Dipping Sauce

Really enjoyed this sauce, but in combination with the bacon wrapped lil smokies w/brown sugar...just a little too sweet. It did taste good, but be prepared that it is sweet with sweet.
