My cooking triumphs
A bridesmaid's luncheon for 15, featuring chilled Strawberry Soup, Chicken Divan, croissants, Mixed green salad with fresh berries, toasted almonds, and raspberry vinaigrette, and a delicious Lemonade cake for dessert. A Mother-Daughter tea with a Garden theme for over 100 women. Homemade scones served with Devon Cream and Strawberry preserves, cucumber and chicken salad finger sandwiches, fresh fruit salad, Vegetable Bouquet, Lemon Squares, and Gracie's Black Magic Cake. Beautiful!
My cooking tragedies
Homemade grape jelly the first year I was married. What a mess! Homemade bread made at 6,000 ft with a sea level recipe....very heavy bread! A dish we dubbed "Chicken Massacre", my first attempt at cutting up a whole chicken. (I have bought my chickens cut-up ever since!)

Chicken Noodle Casserole I
The calorie and fat content of this recipe was pretty high, and the nutritional value a bit low, so I made a few changes to make it more healthful: Substituted 98% fat free soups Used light sour cream instead of regular Substituted 6 oz Whole Wheat Penne pasta for the egg noodles Added 1/2 c steamed, chopped broccoli Reduced the butter for the topping to 1/3 c. To add a little more flavor, I added 1/2 tsp celery seed and threw a fresh bay leaf in with the chicken while it was cooking (removed later). Yummy. Will make it again!
