About this Cook
I'm originally from the South and love to cook. My favorite dishes fluxuate according to the seasons/weather (salads, veggies in the warm months and pastas and more hearty dishes in the colder months).
My favorite things to cook
Anything without too many ingredients and honestly without too many steps. I love simple flavorful creations that I can whip up for my family in a snap! Thanks for all the tasty submissions from other members.
My favorite family cooking traditions
We love cooking together and sharing our sweet creations over a cup of java or tea. The little ones love sweet treats and I'm happy to oblige sparingly.
My cooking triumphs
Making a key line pie! It's now my signature dish for pot lucks requiring a dessert (who knew I could do this - Thanks All Recipes) My other triumph is making a Thanksgiving turkey with a delicious olive oil based maridade with a multitude of Italian spices.

Caribbean Rum Punch
We made this punch for my husband's Caribbean themed birthday party and it was a SMASH HIT. We modified by using 2 different types of rum (Myers Original Coconut Rum + Jamaican Appleton Rum). We also used a frozen Dole juice concentrate of pineapple and banana and it added just the right amount of flavor. This is going to be a staple of our summertime cookouts. Fun and delicious. Make sure to garnish glasses with little umbrellas! Enjoy!

Key Lime Pie VII
I made this pie for Thanksgiving and am hooked on its simplicity and great taste! Making it again tomorrow for an office pot luck. One tip: make sure you chill for several hours (best if over night) for a totally firm and lovely pie. Thanks for sharing.
