Made these for the first time over Memorial Day weekend. Everyone loved them! I used 9 lbs. of 85/15 ground beef to serve 36 burgers. I followed the recipe, adding only a little onion powder to the mix. They came out very juicy with a good flavor to them. Based on other reviewers concerns about "mushy" middles, I made sure my patties were not more than an inch thick, pushed a divot into each center before cooking, and the middles came out perfect. Since these are mild in seasoning, I gave my guests lots of toppings to choose from - my "burger bar" was a hit: American or pepper jack cheese, sauteed onions and peppers, bacon, sliced avocado, lettuce, tomato, red onions, and pickles. Thanks for the recipe, I'll be making these again.
