Buckeye Cookies III

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2012
"FANTASTIC!!" was the response from my hubby - an OSU fan, Ohio native and Reese's junkie. Now he gives me sad puppy eyes when he wants me to make more. The dough freezes extraordinarily well for a long time in a freezer ziplock which makes it easy to make a few at a time when he needs a buckeye fix. If you don't care about eye-appeal, but merely tastiness, you can fling the balls of dough into the melted chocolate and fish them out with two forks. Wonderful recipe, Sally. Thank you for sharing.

Amish Macaroni Salad

As another reviewer said, I don't like macaroni salad. I LOVE this stuff! I followed others' suggestions and cut the sugar to 1/4 cup and added a 4th egg. DELICIOUS!!!

Yummy Honey Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2012
FANTASTIC!!! We put this together last night and let it sit in the fridge til this evening. Hubby put everything into foil packets and cooked it on the charcoal grill. He doesn't like peppers, but couldn't eat enough of em! Utterly delicious. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful simple recipe. We'll definitely be making it again!

Sandy's Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: May 29, 2011
HOLY MOLY!!!! What a spectacular cake! I'd just about given up on making cakes from scratch as they always tend to taste to "dry" for my liking. Not this one. Moist and chocolately thru and thru. The only real trouble I had was keeping my fiance and kids out of the batter and the frosting. Be sure to line the bottom of the pans with parchment paper and sticking becomes a non-issue. Thanks so much for sharing this recipe, Sandy. You definitely deserved to win!

ABSOLUTELY SPECTACULAR! Either as a pie or in cups as mousse, my family goes nuts when I make this. Thank you - this is exactly what I've been looking for.

Ham and Beans

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2010
We ate lots of ham and beans when I was a child and so I've avoided it for several decades. My fiance mentioned he liked this dish, so I set out to find a recipe. I must admit it tasted great. The hint of sweetness makes a massive difference. I'll be making (and eating) this again. :)

Homesteader Cornbread

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2010
WOW!!! I don't care for cornbread as I've always found it too dry and gritty. My fiance, however, likes it so I tried this recipe. It's WONDERFUL! I had three large pieces. :)

Blueberry Cream Muffins

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2009
Without a doubt the best blueberry muffins I've ever made! Taste and texture were exactly what I wanted. Per other reviews, I followed these suggestions: I increased the sugar by 1/2 cup (using 1 1/4 white sugar and 1 1/4 brown sugar) and I increased the vanilla to 1 TBSP. I didn't realize until I was mixing ingredients that someone had used from the new sour cream container and I was 3/4 cup short. I had to substitute using 1 TBSP lemon juice then adding enough milk to make 3/4 cup and mixing in 1/3 cup butter. It worked out just fine. This recipe is a definite keeper! Thank you very much for submitting it, KK3.

Peach Cream Pie I

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2012
Very good pie. Per the reviews, I cut the sugar and added cinnamon. Also added a struesel topping toward the end of the baking time. Used a foil cover pizza pan to catch the overflow. Nice and rich, good texture, and FINALLY got a peach pie that wasn't runny. I really liked being able to spread the flour mixture over the top instead of mixing it in. Will take the advice of another review and try this for other fruits. DELICIOUS!

Chocolate Mint Cookies I

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2007
TOO GOOD! The cookies did spread a lot but who the heck cares...YUM!!!! I'll keep the dough better chilled next time--and there WILL be a next time. I incorporated Andes chips as others suggested. Due to the spreading issue, I reduced the baking time to 7 minutes. Chewy and sinfully delicious. Thanks for this absolutely wonderful recipe!
