HOLY MOLY!!!! What a spectacular cake! I'd just about given up on making cakes from scratch as they always tend to taste to "dry" for my liking. Not this one. Moist and chocolately thru and thru. The only real trouble I had was keeping my fiance and kids out of the batter and the frosting. Be sure to line the bottom of the pans with parchment paper and sticking becomes a non-issue. Thanks so much for sharing this recipe, Sandy. You definitely deserved to win!

Cream Soup Base

SPECTACULAR!!! To avoid lumps, I divided the milk, heating half of it with the butter, and mixing the other half with the flour. I then added the milk/flour mixture to the hot liquid.

French Silk Chocolate Pie I

Ham and Beans

We ate lots of ham and beans when I was a child and so I've avoided it for several decades. My fiance mentioned he liked this dish, so I set out to find a recipe. I must admit it tasted great. The hint of sweetness makes a massive difference. I'll be making (and eating) this again. :)

Homesteader Cornbread

WOW!!! I don't care for cornbread as I've always found it too dry and gritty. My fiance, however, likes it so I tried this recipe. It's WONDERFUL! I had three large pieces. :)

Creamy Rice Pudding

I didn't care for this at all. I'm accustomed to the wonderful custard that forms when baked in the oven and this didn't even come close to that that standard.

Dutch Apple Pie with Oatmeal Streusel

The pie itself is wonderful. I wasn't too crazy about the topping, however. It turned out dry and rather hard, but did soften a bit after a couple days covered in the refrigerator.

Wow Wow Wow! Great recipe and very easy to make. I followed the tips for using a stand mixer, cut the sugar back to 2 Tbsp, and had spectacular results. Thanks for sharing this, Peg.

Blueberry Cream Muffins

Without a doubt the best blueberry muffins I've ever made! Taste and texture were exactly what I wanted. Per other reviews, I followed these suggestions: I increased the sugar by 1/2 cup (using 1 1/4 white sugar and 1 1/4 brown sugar) and I increased the vanilla to 1 TBSP. I didn't realize until I was mixing ingredients that someone had used from the new sour cream container and I was 3/4 cup short. I had to substitute using 1 TBSP lemon juice then adding enough milk to make 3/4 cup and mixing in 1/3 cup butter. It worked out just fine. This recipe is a definite keeper! Topless Blueberry Pie

Creamed Chicken for Biscuits

My fiance LOVED this, as did my daughter. I thought there was just a tad too much pepper, so next time I'll cut back on it a bit and let them add more to their servings. Will definitely be making again and again.
