The Maxi!
About this Cook
I'm a newlywedd with two dogs, Maximus (aka Max/Maxi) and Milo. We live in beautiful AZ and can pratically grill all year long. I want to perfect my grill technique or at least develop one. I love to watch the cooking channel & food network. My fave tv chefs are Paula Deen, Bobby Flay and Emeril.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake pies and cakes. Also, like baking treats for my dogs.
My favorite family cooking traditions
baked macaroni and cheese, baked ziti & rum cake
My cooking triumphs
I make a really good rum cake.
My cooking tragedies
I love to grill but i don't know how to start a charcoal grill. i wanted to make my grilled pineapple dessert. After 20 minutes of trying to start the grill, I finally got it started. I added the pineapples and when i went to taste them....they tasted like starter fluid....wasted a whole pineapple! But, I learned a valuable lesson about starting a grill....wiat 30 minutes before adding anything to it! lol

Baked Penne with Italian Sausage
I used what I had in the house and changed a few things. I used 1/2 lb ground beef & 1/2 lb italian hot sausage. I also added some shredded carrots and sauteed them w/ the onions. After everything was combined, I added chopped fresh spinach about 1/2 cup . It came out really good & my hubby ( who is not a huge veggie fan) had two servings!

Brazilian Chicken with Coconut Milk
This was my first time using coconut milk in a savory dish. Good recipe, i seasoned chicken w/ sea salt, black & garlic powder before I added other spices. Next time, I would add a little more cayenne b/c i didn't have any jalapeno on hand.

Peanut Butter and Pumpkin Dog Treats
This is the first time I used pumpkin for dog treats. I doubled the recipe and added for peanut butter & pumpkin. The dough was a little dry so I added a tablespoon of water. My dogs loved it!
