Wheat Germ Whole-Wheat Buttermilk Pancakes

This is the nearly identical to the recipe I've used for years. My kids have grown up on it and don't like "plain white flour" pancakes! I do half the flour with white flour and add 2 tsp of baking powder (as well as use the baking soda). I find 1/4 cup of brown sugar helps them to be good enough not to have to use a lot of sweet toppings. Lots of times they eat them plain or with PB&J for a snack!

Oatmeal Whole Wheat Quick Bread

I doubled the recipe, slightly increased the honey (by 1Tbsp) and baked it off in the bread machine. It turned out great. I was really pleased with the texture and it thoroughly cooked through in the 1 hour standard cooking time in the machine.

Cake Mixes from Scratch and Variations

I used the recommendation to substitute the shortening with oil and increase the milk amount. It was WAY too moist. At the 30 minute mark, the top was browning but the center was still completely liquid. I reduced the temperature, covered the cake and baked for another 30 minutes. The cake looked horrible, but it did have a good taste. I covered it with icing and the guests were none the wiser. I will try the cake again, but not with both of those changes.

Ricardo's Pizza Crust

This pizza crust was great! Even my picky kids liked it. :-) Definately reduce the temperature to 450 or 425 otherwise the inside is dough and the outside is already really brown.

Neiman Marcus Chocolate Chip Cookie

We loved this recipe! I substituted instant hazelnut cappuccino powder for the instant espresso powder and it was fabulous!
