Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2015
Beware, strangely addicting! I am lactose intolerant so used water instead of milk and it turned out just fine. Other than substituting water instead of milk, I followed the recipe exactly and it was good. Afterwards, I added a splash of vanilla and about a half teaspoon of honey and a little more peanut butter...this did it for me. Loved it. Personally, I like using fresh bananas because it seems to add a deeper flavor. I also like using fresh bananas over frozen because I like the texture it gives. However, when your bananas are at the end of their shelf life it's wonderful to be able to peel, cut into chunks and freeze for later use. I use the frozen quite a bit too. Anyways, love this one. Thanks for sharing the recipe Becca!

Super easy. Good as is, but would be great with a bit more flavor. I will try adding mushrooms next time.

Oven Roasted Potatoes

So easy and you will most likely have everything on hand already (which I love). These have a bit of a kick because of the red pepper. Very good.

Happy Roast Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2012
This is the juiciest chicken I have ever made. I followed the recipe exactly as written, but thought it lacked flavor a bit. I was surprised because of all of the rave reviews. I will use this recipe as a base and add more seasonings or stuff with fresh herbs to make the chicken more flavorful. Thank you for the recipe.

Chicken Biscuit Pie

I liked this recipe. It was good, not great. I used premade rolls instead of making my own, but that was my only change. Seems like it's missing something.

Classy Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: May 15, 2011
This is a pretty traditional dish. There isn't much fuss and it tastes good. I love that you can prepare it the night before, stick it in the fridge and then just add the topping right before you cook it. Fairly inexpensive for a side dish, very easy and it's an old school classic. I only used about half the sour cream, just to give it a flavor boost. Other than that I followed the recipe exactly.

Mom's Favorite Baked Mac and Cheese

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2011
I've never made mac and cheese from scratch, but this was so easy and so good! The family loved it. I switched up the cheese a little- I used sharp cheddar, a small handful of shredded pepperjack (to give it a little bite), a handful of mozerella and a little cream cheese because I had that on hand. It was creamy and so delicious. This will be a regular for us! Thanks for the great recipe.

Lentil Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2011
Great recipe. I did double the garlic and carrots and I also used 2 cans of chicken stock and 1 can of beef broth. I also took about half of the lentils and blended in a blender, then added back into the rest of the soup to give a thicker consistancy. One more addition, I added a little sausage that I had in the fridge to give a little more flavor. I have to tell you it was very, very good and I will be making again. Great tasting, high in protein and high in fiber, what more can you ask for?

This dish was just okay. I felt it needed "something" when I prepared it as is...I made a few adustments and it was a little better, but still not great.

Whipped Cream Filling

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2011
This really was a good recipe. I folded in a touch of vanilla for flavoring at the end. I also used about 4 tbs. of confectioners' sugar because we like our filling sweet. Will make it like this again.

Chocolate Cupcakes

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2011
I liked these, but they were just a tad dry. These have more of a darker chocolate taste. We used milk chocolate icing and I'm glad because it sweetened them up a bit. We also filled them with "whipped cream filling," another recipe from this site. Very good combo!

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2011
Oh my heaven! If you like cinnamon rolls you must try this recipe. These are worth the effort! I added chopped pecans to half of my rolls and I should have baked them a bit longer, but they were fabulous. I stuck with the original amount of icing and thought that was plenty, in fact I had a lot of extra! (btw, the icing is to die for as well)
