I am totally blind. I attended the best blind school (Louisiana Center for the Blind) for 9 months right after I lost my eyesight and gained blind skills that give me the freedom I had before I became blind. I am very much into Kundalini Yoga and meditation. My husband and I have 5 children (4 girls 1 boy) and two grandchildren (girl & boy). I enjoy learning how to cook international dishes. I love to eat!
My favorite things to cook
Right now I'm into Greek dishes, East Indian dishes and vegetarian.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom always makes me my favorite dishes when I caome to visit. My brother is always trying something new and makes up his own recipes. My sister-in-law makes the best fresh cranberry sauce in the world!! I love all the cookies my mom made at christmas!
My cooking triumphs
I'm really good at baking sweets. i'm also really good with philo dough recipes. When I have the time I make some of the best creative fresh pasta seen.
My cooking tragedies
I had to BBQ one dish while I was at blind school. I put Bratwourst in a rack that closed and held them in place. No problem getting the coals started. I wasn't sure how long to cook them. When I removed them from the fire and opened up the rack I ended up using a spackling tool in order to remove them from the rack. Burnt to a crisp is the understatement of the century. Someone else is in charge of BBQ from now on at my house. Just so you understand this is my shortcoming not a blind thing a friend at blind school did BBQ every Saturday afternoon and it was awesome!!
