About this Cook
I am an English Mastiff who loves food. And socks. Although I would advise against serving socks to dinner guests unless specifically requested (in which case it is always best to use a slow cooker). I am also currently single. Hello, ladies.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook meat dishes and sweets, as well as anything that includes bacon or cheese. I also enjoy the occasional raw twig or fallen maple leaf.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My Mother specialized in dairy based cuisine, though I outgrew a taste for that rather early.
My cooking triumphs
My biggest cooking triumph was to learn to make amazing sushi. I can make 2 classic nigiri in under a minute and my rolls are second to none.
My cooking tragedies
I once microwaved popcorn for 50 minutes, nearly starting a house fire. They really need to make those microwave buttons larger.

Habanero Hellfire Chili
We love spicy foods so we bumped this recipe up a bit. Beans were reduced by half a can and we went with 8 of each pepper, keeping the seeds. The result was about as hot as a real Thai dish. (I wouldn't recommend this modification to anyone who isn't sure what a real Thai dish is, though, as it may remove a few layers from your soft palate.) I would also recommend latex gloves when handling the habaneros. I didn't do this and my left paw is now pink and hairless. The chili is so good, however, that it was worth it. 5 stars and a "Yee Haw!"
