About this Cook
Married (15 1/2 years), 2 daughters (8 & 5), 1 dog, lots of fish (inside & outside)
My favorite things to cook
I love cooking, but it gets frustrating because my oldest daughter and my husband are both very picky eaters. I am almost to the point where I want to cook what I want and they have to eat it or fend for themselves:)
My favorite family cooking traditions
My husband is Cuban and his mom is the best cook in the world! I try to cook the food that she cooks & after 16 years, I'm getting close!!
My cooking triumphs
My husband hates turkey (how can anyone hate turkey???), but this past Thanksgiving he raved about how delicious my turkey was!! That was a definite triumph!
My cooking tragedies
Many years ago, I was making homemade gravy for Thanksgiving dinner (I was hosting it for the first time) and I put baking soda in the hot mixture instead of baking powder... it immediately exploded all over the stovetop!! I tossed that recipe out right away and I'm not even sure why it called for baking powder anyway!!! Thankfully, I had jar gravy on hand because everyone was starving & ready to eat!!

Easy Turkey Gravy
This gravy was delicious and super easy!! I used 4 cups of College Inn Rotisserie Chicken Stock & 1 cup turkey stock. It was yummy & the best gravy that I have ever made!!

Butterscotch Bread Pudding
Absolutely deeeeelicious! I used a 16 ounce loaf of French bread cuz that's all the store had & it came out perfect! I've always had bread pudding with some type of sauce on top, but this recipe honestly doesn't need it. Like other reviewers have said, it is even better cold from the fridge, when the butterscotch sets up hard again. Everyone just loved this recipe!!
