Cool 'n Easy Pie

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2003
I followed this recipe exactly and in the 15-20 minutes it was in the fridge, a large portion of liquid separated out and sat at the bottom of the bowl. I had to throw the whole thing out and start over. I don't think the whipped topping should be stirred in with a wire wisk; it should be gently folded in with a rubber scraper.

Honey Cornbread

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2003
I didn't have heavy cream so I had to use's substitution suggestion of 3/4 c milk and 1/3 c butter, so it wasn't as moist as it probably should have been, but it was still very good.

I make this in a 13x9 pan with just three layers and cut into squares - it's wonderful!

Grandma Strait's Fudge

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2002
This is a terrible recipe for fudge! It is not descriptive enough about the cooking techniques - very bad for beginners like me! It says to heat the mixture, but it doesn't say what heat setting on your stove, and whether or not to stir it. After you remove it from heat, it doesn't say if it should cool down to room temperature before adding the marshmallow, and it doesn't say if you should let it set in the refrigerator or not. As a result, my first try at fudge came out terrible - the chocolate burned in the pan either because I had the heat too high (I had it set on the "medium" setting of my dial) or because I didn't stir and maybe I should have.

Strawberry Pretzel Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2002
The margarine & brown sugar should be melted before adding to the crushed pretzels, otherwise the crust doesn't hold. Also, try reducing the crushed pretzels to 2 cups instead of 2 1/2. Also, the cream cheese layer is disproportionately small, especially compared to the gelatin layer on top.
