Yam Smoothie

This turned out good! And helped me clear out my leftover sweet potatoes. I made a few adjustments based on other reviews. Used one and a half frozen bananas; no ice. Used 1 cup plain yogurt (what I had) and added a tbsp of honey and a few ounces of OJ so I didn't have to use sugar. Also added tsp of cinnamon and a dash of nutmeg. I told my kids it was a banana-orange smoothie--and even though they don't like sweet potatoes they went for it!

Cheesecake Dessert

I used a chocolate cake mix and I couldn't keep the 2 layers from mixing together. Tasted okay, the raspberry sauce is what saved it (I'll be making the sauce again--it was wonderful! Used creme de cassis instead of kirschwasser). Looked more like marbled brownies than cheesecake. I made it for my Bible Study and they liked it but said they wouldn't have guessed it was cheesecake.

Oatmeal and Applesauce Pancakes

This was really good with a few changes. I added one chopped apple, some chopped walnuts, a tablespoon of sugar and an extra dash of cinnamon. I could see adding a little bit of salt next time too to balance the sweetness. Overall very good, family loved it!

Whole Grain Waffles

These were wonderful! Yummy and great texture. I didn't have wheat germ so I upped the flax a little and put another tablespoon of flour in it. I was pleasantly surprised at how much my picky kids and husband loved them! My 7-year-old asked if I could make them every weekend. Served with fresh blackberries and maple syrup. Yum! Thanks for sharing!

Blueberry Custard

This was delicious! Made it for company, everyone loved it. This would make a great potluck dish for brunch--we heated up the leftovers the next morning for breakfast. I did add a small amount of sugar (1/4 cup) per other reviews.
