Pecan Tassies

Followed recipe to a T and no modifications needed - delicious and will make these for many holidays to come. My filling filled about 85 cups of dough.

Simple Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2011
Recipe tastes good, but cookies DO NOT take the form of whatever shape you've cut them into upon baking - they spread thin and crispy, but yummy.

Homesteader Cornbread

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2011
Definitely the best cornbread we've ever had. Tastefully moist and rich with a nice corn flavor. So often you can't taste the corn in cornbread, but it tastes wonderful in this recipe! Rises beautifully!

Parmesan Chicken II

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2010
Delicious! We did dredge the drumsticks in flour before coating in egg then cheese. Left the recipe as is otherwise. Could use a few more spices to kick up the flavor a bit, but a very easy, enjoyable recipe regardless.

Tangy Slow Cooker Pork Roast

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2010
Not that unique or really all that tangy, but it was an easy way to cook up a pork roast, and the onions were delicious! We will make this again.

Royal Icing II

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2010
One of the best royal icing recipes I've tried. Very runny as is though. To pipe decorations for a cake, I needed to add a bunch more confectioners' sugar so that there could be form to the decorations (not sure of the amount).

Special Buttercream Frosting

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2010
Very good recipe. Nice and smooth presentation on a cake. Recipe also makes a lot which is great. One drawback is that you need to have heavy cream on hand. I made the recipe as is the first time but found the following modifications perfect the recipe: use 1/2 butter, 1/2 shortening; use 1 tsp vanilla and 1 tsp almond extract (cannot imagine buttercream without the almond extract, makes the recipe pop); and use no more than 6 oz of the cream for medium to thin consistency icing (the whole 8 oz was just too much, can't imagine anytime I would need to add that much).

Vanilla Glaze

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2010
Very nice glaze. I was looking for a glaze that was more than just confectioners' sugar and milk and this one was great - easy to make, easy to make as thin or as thick as you'd like, great taste.
