Italian Sausage Soup with Tortellini

This recipe is absolutely AMAZING! I have made it several times as is and every time it is a winner in this household! I have also made it with variations such as using fresh sausage instead of sweet Italian, fresh spinach instead of basil which is amazing as well. This recipe is a winner in my home as well as every variation I've come up with along the way. Thank you so much Mary!

Best Spanish Rice

This rice was amazing! I've always eaten Spanish rice but never really cared for it. I raved over this one, and I am my biggest critic. The kids even liked it. I browned the rice in butter. It still ended up very soft, not hard as others claimed and I truly cooked mine to a med golden brown. I used fresh garlic and because I had homegrown tomatoes and a green pepper, used that on top of the required amount of salsa. I agree that pepper is also needed. I was very skeptical about this tasting like jar salsa mixed with rice, but the chicken broth adds a unique, wonderful flavor and you would never know how simple this recipe actually is. I have found my keeper recipe!

Grilled Chicken and Potato Foil Packs

Because I had already marinated chicken before finding this recipe, I left out the chicken and made half the seasoning mix. I made a few changes, based on what I had on hand. I lightly sprinkled paprika on the potatoes after slicing, mainly for color. I cut back slightly on the oil and added butter. Because I didnt have thyme, I added a little parsley in its place. Because others said it was not as flavorful without doubling (but I was worried about too much flavor as my bf is more of a subtle flavors kind of person), I added about 1/2 tsp of Cavenders. This was AMAZING!! We will be making this often! I cannot wait to try it with the chicken next time. Thanks for an awesome recipe!

Anniversary Chicken I

I was very excited to try this recipe, and followed it to a "T." I honestly could NOT eat a second bite. I used Kroger 30 min teriyaki marinade and Kraft Classic Ranch dressing. I am not sure if the marinade was the problem or not, but I have used this brand before and liked it. The flavors did not meld together well at all. It was beyond salty, and I am the type who usually needs to add salt to everything! I will not be making this again, I wouldn't even want to try it using a different type of marinade after this. I actually had to quickly make a new main dish. Possibly using a different teriyaki would make all the difference.
