I am in my third week of Weight Watchers.  This is my second time actively doing the program, after becoming a Lifetime member in 2001.  Last time, I used the points plan.  This time I am trying Simply Filling.  So far, I really like the Simply Filling plan and believe that this is the best organized diet program on the market I have seen to transform my eating habits permanently.  Slow, steady, and healthy.

I am one of those people who doesn't like to do things half-way, so I am giving a lot of mental energy to this effort and am always on the search for tips, recipes, and motivation.  I will use this blog to share what I find.

Hi, puddinpie! This is Indiana Peggy. I joined WW October 1 and was taught the Points Plus program, which I have been doing (and like). After attending meetings in October, I realized my leader was using the Simply Filling program and devoted much of the meeting to it. I was pretty confused at first: I had no idea what was going on. After I understood, I continued in November, got some questions answered and have been on my own since then. The PP program makes a lot of sense to me and, since I am a person who likes to keep detailed records and weight and measure things,it is a good fit. I will be looking forward to reading your blogs, as the Simply Filiing program may be something to switch to in the future. Continued good luck to you!

I want to share my experience with you in case you tire of your program. I turned to Weight Watchers when it came time to lose weight for the first time in my life. I didn't know enough about food to use the program! I listed and counted and ate and thought about food and cheated a little and wondered how to eat fewer points values, etc. FINALLY I spent the extra money with a personal trainer and paid for an eating plan tailored to my current size and goal size, and just ate what the plan said. Even that frustrated me. Now I am reaching my goals with the SIMPLEST rules and still very little knowledge of all foods and their various properties. Want to hear it? Eat every 2 hours all day, but not for at least an hour before bed. Eat lots of protein, and mix protein with carbs to start the day, then protein with fats after 11am. Do not mix carbs and fats. Whoever thought of putting crackers and cheese together is responsible for miles and miles of excess inches on all of us! There you go. Try it. Still write everything down. Mix and match your days into higher and lower carb days. You can lose quite quickly and very safely and you have not slowed down your metabolism. Chances are, you will have sped it up because it takes a lot to eat every two hours. Key helpful items: chicken, almonds, even protein powder can help you out. Best wishes. I completely agree with you. I've done the Weight Watcher points system off and on since the late 90s. I just started back and am doing the Simply Filling technique. I love it! It makes so much sense! I'm all into the recipes too. I look forward to your posts. Good luck with your weight loss'

I am very anxious to find some Simply Filling recipes! Does anyone know if there is a collection of them anywhere? Thanks...I, too, think this is the first sane way I've ever come across to lose some pounds while changing my eating habits FOR GOOD!

I too worked the plan counting points, took a break but returned to simply filling and love it. I search for recipes by food type, e.g. Lentils, a wonderful power food. I substitute any non simply filing foods in the recipes for SF foods and now am enjoying more variety than I would have thought possible. I too am looking forward to following your blog.
