Apple Strudel Muffins

So good I didn't bother with the topping! I did add 1/2 tsp apple pie spice. My 3 year old ate 4 of them before breakfast was even on the table. :-0

Blueberry Crisp II

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2011
Perfection! I made it for brunch, and - as I was hoping - it turned out to be not too sweet, and had just the right amount of tart. I used frozen blueberries, but only had 2 cups on hand, so I added 2 cups of frozen cherries. I do think this would be a great recipe with almost any kind of fruit you'd like to use.

Cheddar Bacon Hamburgers

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2011
I gave 4 stars for the flavor, but took off a star because the burgers fell apart on the grill. I've never had that happen before, so I have to assume it has to do with the ingredients. I'll probably try again and add an egg as a binder.

Blueberry Cream Muffins

Fantastic! I only have mini muffin tins so I converted recipe to 12 muffins and baked for 15 minutes. Did the trick, but the tops weren't quite brown enough, so I brushed them with butter and put them under low broiler for 3 minutes. Yum!

Wow! Wow! Wow! Follow this recipe, heed other reviewers' advice about not overworking the batter, and you'll never use another pancake recipe or mix again.

Chicken Tortellini Soup

Pretty good! I did add some carrots and diced tomatoes because I wanted a little more veggie nutrition. Good served with warm, crusty bread.

Grandma's Green Bean Casserole

This was too labor intensive to just taste OK. I did saute the onions before adding to avoid the crunchiness other reviewers mentioned. I'll probably just stick to the old cream of mushroom soup version in the future.

Creamy Hot Cocoa

Waaaaaay too sweet. I'll probably try again, but will definitely cut the sugar a bit. Mine came out more like chocolate syrup than hot cocoa.

Chili Mac Casserole

I thought this was just OK. Followed recipe except used 1lb of ground beef rather than 2 because I just felt like 2 was too much meat. Overall the flavor was just not fantastic, but not bad either. I probably won't make again.

Toll House® Blonde Brownies

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2011
I thought these were great and the fam ate them up very quickly. I did as another reviewer suggested and converted the recipe to yield 24 brownies so the batter fit into my 9x13 pan. Worked like a charm; took 28 minutes to cook in my oven.

French Toast Souffle

Tried this 3 times. Getting it to cook evenly was the challenge I just couldn't meet. Middle was always soggy. Edges were always over-done and tough. Regular old french toast is way easier and tastier.

Spinach Cheddar Muffins

I read the reviews about blandness so I added 1/4 tsp garlic powder, 1/4 tsp thyme, and 1/4 cup parmesan ... but still bland. Texture was great, though, so I think I'll try adding sauteed onions next time to see if I can kick the flavor up a notch.

Sandy's Casserole

Pretty good, considering I threw this together with what I had on hand. Used evaporated milk, subbed a packet of onion soup mix for the onion, and used 2 cans cream of mushroom (omitting mushroom). Topped with breadcrumbs. Also cooked macaroni for 5 mins before combining for the oven.

Excellent! The finished product turned out to be a bit too tangy for my taste, so I added a dash of liquid smoke and that did the trick. The only problem was no leftovers. :(

Hearty Meatball Soup II

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2009
YUM! I subbed beef broth for chicken and also added some V8 for flavor (an old soup trick my MIL taught me), and used pasta I had on hand. I took off one star because I found the soup needed a lot more liquid than called for - I kept adding water as it cooked. This one's a keeper!
