Grandmother's Famous Cranberry Bread

This recipe is from the book "Cranberries Thanksgiving" it was out of print for a few years so very expensive, but has now been reprinted. If you read the story with your kids, then make the bread it is so much more special! I agree with some that it is better after it "sits". My kids are a little older now and help me make it for friends and teachers before the Christmas cookies start. I sometimes throw in some chocolate chips for a variety. My husband describes it as more of a "fruitcake" so maybe that is why some are looking for a bread consistency and don't get that. I am NOT a fan of fruit cake, but like this bread.

Good Dog Cookies

I made these for Christmas gift for our dog friends, but tried it one my dogs first. They loved it. I cut them into stars and bones. I had no trouble, didn't use a rolling pin though, just flattened by hand to go quickly.

Mustard Pickled Eggs

These are beautiful when taken out of the jar-so bright yellow-I wish I could get our Easter Eggs that color! The are strong-but if people like mustard and pickled foods, they'll LOVE them. If not a fan of either, just look at them and enjoy!

Suki's Spinach and Feta Pasta

Awesome. Made this for many meat eaters and they did not miss a thing. I added more garlic and olive oil (but I'm an "estimater" anyway, but have fun with it!

Southwestern Black Bean Stew

Easy and flavorful. My kids liked it too (5 and 8). I also served it over rice for dinner, but would be good alone as well. I added about 1 tablespoonn of sugar to lower acid from paste (not enough to sweeten) and fresh crushed garlic when I simmered.

Brazilian Fish Stew

This was great. I was doubling the recipe and had only 1 can of coconut milk so had to use 1 can of evaporated milk and it still turned out great. Next time I will try 1 can of fat free milk to lower the fat. I also had a smoked paprika that made a great flavor.
