Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2015
Great recipe! This is my go-to apple pie recipe! Every time I made this pie I get great compliments. I do add the apple slices to the mixture, coat it well and then add the slices to the dish, reserving some of the mixture to pour over the lattice top. Thanks for sharing. Definitely, a keeper!

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2015
What a fail. Like many said the dough was super sticky!!! I still gave it a try anyway. And added powdered sugar along the way to help minimize the stickiness but was still a fail. I continued on anyway, a little discouraged by all the extra work I put into the dough I didn't put a lot of energy into it after cutting/shaping the cookies. On the plus side after baking I broke off a piece and the flavor was not bad (considering all the extra powdered sugar I added along the way). I will defer to a different recipe next time.

Cuban Marinated Steak

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2015
I thought the recipe was okay. I will give the recipe another try but use less cumin seed as I didn't care too much for the taste. My daughter really like the dish. I served with spanish red beans and rice.

Cola Pot Roast II

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2013
I wanted to try something different so thought I'd try this recipe, it turned out good. However, I think I will stick to my recipe, as the taste and fragrance of envelope gravy was prominent. I prefer the taste of the actual meat and juices meshed with the flavor from the surrounding vegetables/seasonings. Glad to try the recipe and don't get me wrong it was good.

Chili Seasoning Mix II

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2013
Great seasoning. I used the exact measurements. My family is not big on spice, so next time I will use less heat. But this recipe was perfect. Thanks for sharing!

Debdoozie's Blue Ribbon Chili

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2013
Great recipe. I was surprised that a chili recipe included salsa. I just recently aquired the taste for chili. I used the allrecipes chili seasoning mix II. I wonder what this recipe tastes like without the Pace salsa, as I don't particularly like the smell. Thanks for sharig Deb I will be making this again.

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2011
This was my first time making lasagna and this was such a great recipe, was a little nervous because it always seems so complicated! I didn't have fennel seed or parmesan cheese but it was still a fantastic dish. The whole family loved it and my kids don't even like lasagna, next time I think I will use only ground beef. It's a little expensive but I will definitely make it again. Thanks for sharing John Chandler!

Penne with Spicy Vodka Tomato Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2011
I followed the recipe as indicated, except I didn't have any fresh parsley. It was good, maybe I will use less penne next time as it was a little dry for my liking (but the taste was good), I will also try using chicken instead of sweet Italian sausage. Thanks Star Pooley for sharing your recipe!

Best Ever Banana Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2011
I used the ingredients listed, no changes there, but I did cut back on the sugar like some mentioned between 1 cup to 1.25 and I also lined the pan with cinnamon/sugar as suggested by others. It was moist and tasty!!!! My boyfriend and his mother, who are in the restauarant business and love banana bread, gobbled a loaf up in practically one sitting and said this bread could win contests!!! I love banana bread also and am kind of picky but this one is definitely very yummy and I won't look any further for the perfect recipe. Thanks v monte for sharing!!!!

Mexican Wontons

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2010
I tried this recipe after reading the reviews for reviews and recommendations. These are tasty all the ways I made them. The first round I made two different kinds, half the batch using pepperjack and the other half using cream cheese. I thought the pepperjack was tastier and more exotic tasting but the cream cheese was good as well (not alot of cream cheese is needed). Since you get a ton of wonton wrappers. The second round I used chicken with carrots and celery as well as minced garlic, seasoned with salt and pepper. Chicken was SO good. I would recommend that you also explore several versions. Its quick and easy to wrap, and fries in just seconds (you don't want them too crispy). Its a must try! Enjoy!
