Anna's Amazing Easy Pleasy Meatballs over Buttered Noodles

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2009
Delicious and so simple! How wonderful! I did scale it back to only 6 servings but still used 1 full can of each soup. It wasn't too much sauce at all. We enjoyed it a lot!

Berry Rhubarb Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2009
Delicious pie, although I used what fruit was on sale, so it was strawberry, blueberry and rhubarb. I love that the pie is versatile for you to use whatever fruit you want. My husband said he could have eaten the whole pie in one sitting! I do look forward to trying it with raspberries and blackberries and I appreciate finding a pie that only uses 2 cups of rhubarb, which is exactly the odd extra amount I had left! You could taste it but it wasn't overwhelming. Just added a nice "different" flavor. Made my grandma's pie crust, so can't say how this crust recipe is, but I'm sure it's also yummy!

Peanut Butter Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2009
Well yes, this is quite yummy! I added a layer of chocolate pudding to the bottom of the crust, but it doesn't really need it. It is rich, but I found it perfect. I chopped up the candy for the top and that worked nicely. An easy pie that will impress guests!

Pot Roast, Vegetables, and Beer

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2009
This is a fairly good roast and it cooked quickly in the oven, which was nice. I personally didn't love the tomato paste. It gave it a bit of an odd flavor. And the veggies got too soft, which for some reason doesn't seem to happen in my crock pot.

Rio Grande Quesadillas

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2009
Good recipe, fairly easy. I boiled my chicken and then shredded it. The water seems like a lot at first but it does boil off. Made exactly as written except I baked mine for about 10 minutes at 350 rather than frying. I like the beans in here, and the cilantro give it a great flavor.

Summer Tomato Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2009
Wow, I guess I have to disagree with most of the reviews on here. It does need a dressing. It's very "earthy" (as my husband) said without some kind of "sauce". I added some balsamic vinegar and was able to eat it then, but on it's own it's just too dry.

Tuna Cream Cheese Omelet

Reviewed: May 24, 2009
Well this is unique, and the flavor is pretty good, although the tuna overwhelmed the eggs. I used Egg Beaters, which I find easier to make into omelets than regular eggs. My husband and son wouldn't touch it, so it's not one I'll make again, but it's fun to try new things!

Cheeseburger Salad

Reviewed: May 18, 2009
Well this is just delightful! Lots of tangy flavor and so simple. It only took me about 20 minutes total. I didn't use 8 cups of lettuce. We just all put as much as we wanted in a bowl and topped with the burger mix. We got 4 servings, not 6. Yum!

Herbed Chicken and Fettuccini

Reviewed: May 17, 2009
This was very good, although I had to modify a bit based on what I had on hand. I used regular cream cheese (7oz) and a red pepper. I also used the entire can of chicken broth and then thickened the sauce with about 1 Tbsp of cornstarch. I used a very generous amount of pepper and about 1 Tbsp of Italian seasoning as well. Great option for chicken and fettuccini if you don't want alfredo!

Favorite Barbecue Chicken

Well, this was OK. I could take it or leave it. Too much ketsup for my taste.

Pan Seared Lemon Tilapia with Parmesan Pasta

Reviewed: May 3, 2009
What a great little recipe! I did increase the amounts of seasoning to 1/2 tsp of each spice for the fish - except cilantro which I didn't have. For the pasta I used 1/8 tsp of each spice for my "pinch". We enjoyed this very, very much. The flavors mingle together beautifully. The best tilapia recipe I've found so far on this site.

Giant Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: May 1, 2009
Yum, yum! Very easy and great flavor. I used two 9 inch pie plates and it worked beautifully. You don't need to worry about the dough spreading because of the higher sides. Tastes great frosted!

Ryan's Favorite Beans

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2009
I enjoyed this very much, but not everyone I served liked it. It's very, very sweet and the cider vinegar makes it quite tangy. My 5 year old wouldn't eat it. If I make it again I would cut down on the vinegar and increase the liquid smoke. I did use the lima beans and I have to say they were tasty, and I don't normally like them. They go nicely in this dish.

Nanna's Banana Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2009
This is a fabulous banana bread! I added 1 more banana and think it needs that. I love mixing the "wet team" in the blender - how handy. This makes a very large loaf, so the 2nd time I made it I split it into two smaller loaves and baked for 45 minutes. Just great!

Potato Potluck Dish

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2009
Very nice potato dish. I didn't have any mozarella cheese but I did sprinkle bacon bits on the top and that was yummy. Also didn't have any cream of mushroom so I used cream of celery instead. My family enjoyed it.

Peanut Butter Easter Eggs

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2009
These are the best darn peanut butter eggs I've ever had! For those novice candy makers like myself, here's some specifics that worked well for me. Since many people found the dough crumbly, I started with 1 1/2 cups of powdered sugar and then sprinkled in small amounts as I mixed until it was no longer sticky. You want to just soften your butter (mine took 25 seconds in my microwave) and I also started with just 2 tsp of milk. The recipe says to add that as needed and that was all I needed. Mix with a pastry blender. I also used dipping chocolate and it was super easy. I couldn't be happier with this recipe!

Asparagus Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2009
This is OK. I used quite a bit of white pepper and garlic but it was still missing something. I think I just prefer my asparagus soup creamier. We topped this with sour cream and that added the most to the soup.

Lemon Garlic Tilapia

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2009
After all the rave reviews, I just found this OK. It was fairly bland. I did increase the garlic to 3 cloves but it just wasn't enough. There was nothing wrong with it, it's just nothing special.

Soft Onion Sandwich Rolls

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2009
Really great rolls! They did make my entire house smell like onions, but it was worth it! I increased my yeast to 2 1/2 tsp and put in a full 1/4 cup of minced onion into the bread per the submitter's additional notes. My husband thought they tasted a bit like a biscuit, which wasn't bad, just an observation. Very flavorful and great for burgers!
