Pork a la Steve

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2005
We served this recipe at a dinner party for 15 guests. The feeling was mutual. This recipe is a winner! Following the first reviewer's lead, we reduced the amount of marmalade, but it was still to much. I will change the instructions to mix the marmalade, soy sauce, and garlic thoroughly prior to placing the meat in it. The zip loc bag idea of one reviewer is a good approach. We also added the glaze option, but omitted the garlic from this glace. This mixture also became a good 'sauce' to keep the meat moist. With these adds, it is great! My family is already asking for it again!

Germanotta Tomato Fennel Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2012
Great tomato basil soup. Original has been modified significantly... more garlic, chicken broth, less fennel. Also modified the preparation process to reduce the intensity of the puree. Chunky but smooth.

Dawn's Candied Walnuts

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2012
This recipe is all that it claims. Wonderful candied walnuts for every occasion. I prepared them to go with a salad, and they were easy to prepare, all around. As I have a convection oven, I limited the roasting for the walnuts to about 7 minutes. I timed this to correspond with the preparation of the sugar mixture, which I heated to about 220 F. Then, mixing them while still hot, and when fully coated, spread them on a cool baking sheet lined with parchment paper, allowed separation of the nuts without sticking together. And to top it off, they tasted great!

This is one of the best ever Thanksgiving side dishes. Valerie insists that it be a part of every festive occasions menu. Great as a 'leftover' as well.

Ron's Best Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2009
It's the best! Based on an old (very) Betty Crocker recipe, and modified over the years to hone its perfection. We have the same ingredients save one: Evaporated milk has become Condensed milk. We have adjusted rations to have less salt, milk, and cloves and more cinnamon and ginger.
